I thought it was a toss up between the Mare and banshee.
The deciding factor was every time the ghost was going to be active, you had your light on and it immediately calmed down

I played a game with a Wraith who left salt footsteps so it is not a best way to exclude a Wraith with a salt.
Salt works the same way as crucufix againts Wraiths but they will still leave steps on it if I am right
