In this video I show you the secret power of the Headcam in Phasmophobia! I always thought that the headcam was pretty useless, especially in solo play. But yesterday I learned something really cool! In the latest update they gave the headcam a faint but very useful flashlight! This can absolutely save your life when trying to escape the ghost during a hunt. I noticed the faint light too last night while playing the prison map. Great vid Insym, hope you're doing well.
I've always wore a headcam before this patch when I play with my friends. Because if someone is at the truck, I can just slowly pan the room while they are looking for ghost orbs. But solo play, I wouldn't even bother loading them on the truck. They were worthless to me. I hope the IR light source is going to stay? This will be extremely useful. One question though. Why do we have a flashlight stuck to our shoulder when it emits almost no usable light? But when we rotate away from holding a flashlight, the shoulder light suddenly becomes usable? It sure would be nice if a flashlight didn't take up a inventory slot, just like the headcam.
can someone explain the buff they gave to yurei? I don't know if it's increased aggression or just an increased passive at tanking your sanity compared to other ghosts.
Another great thing with headcam is if you have a friend in VR and they die then you can actually still see their headcam feed

They should make it so you can talk to dead teammates through spirit box for limited amounts of time, or maybe another way to balance it but yeah would be a cool idea ig

With the new ghost evidence being how it is. It could be super fun to bring back GHOST ROULETTE. Just think about only have three evidence, but with the big brain move of knowing what evidence cancels another, and of course the ghost behavior. I think it would make for a fun video.
Is this a bug?
I've been wearing a headcam every time I play multiplayer since I'm in VR and it'd give someone in the truck a smooth camera to watch if we needed it. After the update, I thought they just added a light on your shoulder or something 'cause I noticed I could actually see in the dark for once. Guess it was the headcam. lol
That's crazy that you're getting such active ghosts. Usually I struggle to get the ghost to show at all to take its photo. I rarely end the game with ghost photo because once I'm done with figuring it out and other objectives, it's just annoying to wait. That's because I can quit and get to a new game and new ghost faster and I could earn more money that way than wait for the ghost to finally show up. Or the ghosts just disappear as quickly as they appear or they catch me off-guard when I don't have the camera ready and I have all other stuff in my hands.
I always thought that everyone knew this, interesting now that I see it from a solo player's perspective!
