So Phasmophobia has released a big new patch introducing a bunch of new stuff and overhauling the looks on old items. (V.0.3.0)
One of the new items is called a DOT projector which shows a green grid, which the ghost can walk through and you’ll see a shape.
This works on the new ghosts and some old ghosts.
Although very hard to find (And very tedious) after 5 hours we did find it and this is what it looks like.

This is not editing. This is so scary and it don't need to look through the camera because I saw it in front of my eyes!
They have to fix this. It might be an interesting novelty right now where people are willing to spend 5 hours trying to get this to work, but if this is really the way the game is going to be played from now on, nobody is going to use DOTS. They will rule out everything else and then conclude it must be DOTS without needing to actually check for it. That's at least what I was forced to do when playing yesterday.
FYI it is easily visible also being directly there, just get a decent monitor and pay attention.
It does not take 5 hours for the ghost to appear. They are just really hard to see and you have to focus enough on the spot. You probably missed it a bunch of times. It varies based on the ghost model and most of the time its barely visible.
i couldn't figure out how dots worked at first, i kept seeing the ghost through dots, but i thought i was seeing things at first
it would never take longer than 2-3 mins to show once you know which room it's in. Also make sure no one else is in the room or near the room for it to show faster.
