Had to use FSR to make it run on my Geforce GTX 1650S(A little slower than your graphics card) because it runs a lot worse after the update. FSR fixes all the issues though but i did order a new graphics card to be more future proof.
Traditionally, shadow quality and textures are the first two settings to check if there is a low frame rate at a given resolution. Only consider turning these down if frame rates are abysmal as it will have the clearest performance difference in rendering.
Anti-aliasing is methods to smooth outlines of objects, with different methods and refresh rates, from 2x to 16x, giving smoother, crisp objects, but is more taxing. If rendering is not a problem, but objects aren't crisp, consider turning it up, or vise versa if there is a problem. DLSS and FidelityFX also offer closely related, but less demanding solutions.
Ambient occlusion is a technique for determining not what particles need to be lighted in a given environment, but what particles should not be lighted evenly. This improves shadows, especially along characters and the crevasses in architecture, but as you probably guessed at a performance cost.
Anisotropic filtering, available in probably all games today, is frankly hard to explain. This is probably why it is largely adaptive in many newer games, but tweaking it can make a significant impact on performance and quality. Essentially it's a method for drawing textures to fit an object (e.a. a bed) so it doesn't produce artifacts when viewed from an angle. If this is happening, it is either a bug, or the game could benefit from higher anisotropic filtering rates if available.
Deep learning super sampling, by Nvidia, or FidelityFX, by AMD, are methods of rendering a scene beyond the resolution of a monitor, then downscaling it back to that resolution. It generally makes for more detail and crisper environment. Super sampling is not a new idea, but these techniques are as they rely on AI to approximate the higher resolution. This offers considerable performance benefits, but it can also introduce artifacts like shimmering or a haze when in motion.
Bloom allows light source values to "bloom" beyond 100%. This allows for various lensing effects and enhances blur in game, but is more of a preference.
Ray tracing, or RTX, is unique method of lighting an environment. Instead of using a light map, ray tracing calculates the path of a ray of light from it's source to an object, then the reflections as well. This much more closely approximates real life lighting, but requires substantial resources. Animation outlets, like Pixar, have been using this tech for quite a while, but the ability to do it in real time is fairly new. While this is an exciting development, it may not quite be worth it to most yet as it can require very expensive equipment to run well, and it's still just calculating from a single point of light, so it could be a generation before it delivers hyper-realistic lighting.
Vertical sync eliminates screen tearing, but is very costly in frame rates since it forces the GPU to wait before updating the next frame until the monitor has displayed all but one rendered frame. Basically, it doesn't let the GPU get ahead and overwhelm the monitor. Adaptive sync monitors paired with supporting GPU's have minimized this problem.
There are per-game settings that are not common, but one many games have is level of detail. This can include draw distance to an object, but most often references things like decals or cracks in a wall. Turning this setting down may offer significant performance boost, but with little reduction in quality.
These are the most useful features for tuning the performance and quality in a game, but of course lowering the resolution is also an obvious means of achieving better performance. 720p is still a common resolution, and 1080p still the resolution most people game at. Most report diminishing returns at higher resolutions, so don't worry so much if you have to lower resolution to get a game in the recommended 60 FPS region.

As far as I know, VSync doenst let you have more than 60 fps.
I looked it up a lot when i got my new PC with 3070 a year ago and its true.
So as I see, you got a 144hz Monitor, which could give you 144 fps maximum,
but when you put VSync on, you will not benefit from this, only giving you 60 fps ingame!
I hope you will test it without VSync, cuz you will have a more fluid game.
If you got Screen Tearing (vertical Stripes) then you can go into nvidia system settings and putting
Vertical Synchro on "Fast" Mode, it will still give you your fps, but without the Tearing!
