Welcome back to Phasmophobia! Today we check out the latest weekly challenge which is way more annoying than the developers intended. Back when this challenge first got added you didn’t need the UV or the Thermometer to find those evidences, but because that doesn’t work anymore this is now basically a no evidence challenge if you get unlucky. How is writing book considered "audio equipment" but not EMF?
Hey insym did you know phasmophobia is coming to console on the 29th of October
The fact some ghosts can hunt at around 70-80% doesn't completely make the 5 minute setup useless. Especially since in MP it seems like the sanity drains quicker.
When I put out one sound device in one place and the other somewhere else and I got sound from both I guessed the twins and got it right xD
I had so much luck with this one. First I had a demon hunting at like 90% sanity, then a mimic who mimiced a demon hunting at like 90% sanity again (at this point I already ruled out an actual demon because of writing so the only possibility left was a mimic) and then I had a Banshee who instantly did it's scream at me lol

The ambient sounds and general sound design on Sunny Meadows are amazing – the echo, the padded cell and "the squelchy room", real highlight
Well it was tough on my side. We identify in the end but my brother with l played mistaken the ghost type and we tried to complete it for him but we didn't manage, we played probably 4-5 games. We gonna try before it ends
I played this one as a "look for the one open door in the asylum" challenge. Worked 3/3 times. I'm glad they kept that, because all 3 ghosts did very little.
I want to say that the way it was set up makes the players only be able to use the parabolic mic to find and keep track of the ghost. The emf is a lot of people's go to for finding the ghost. So it looks less like the items were based on the sounds they made vs what items can be easily used to find the ghost.

I finished it. So painful. I'm new to game, so it took my lobby like 5-10 minutes just to figure out ghost room 🙁
I got banshee Screm but it was Mimic for me T_T

2 Hantus is absolutely evil in this challenge
I got lucky for my first game I got a demon who hunted me at 95% sanity after the 5 first min while I was still looking for the ghost room. That saved me a lot of time to say the least.
I had 2 Hantus and an Obake in my runs for this weekly. I had to use no-evidence challenge strats the entire time, and the only single time I got some form of "evidence" was an EMF 5 on the truck chart during the Obake game. Paramic came in clutch for quickly pinning down the ghost rooms too. Everything I learned from watching this channel came to fruition!

It would be intresting to give you really limited gear (motion sensors, sound sensors, salt, parabolic and spirit box only maybe) but then start the game with most of the ghosts already crossed out. Make you use motion sensors to figure out banshee/phantom/wraith, spirit box for deogen, etc. Then just make it so you KNOW from the start its not a demon or hantu because those ghosts cannot be identified via sound.
I kept trying to get an Onryo to hunt via candles but we ended up getting 3 other ghosts.
1. After only getting Spirit Box , Friend got Phantom via DOTS photo.
2. Evidence narrowed it to Oni/Goryo/Raiju. I went into the wing to watch the ghost run at me knowing there was no way to survive, Oni via visual test.
3. Evidence narrowed it to Shade/Myling after noticing the headgear was a video camera for Orbs. Ghost stopped throwing things when I was in the ghost room. Shade via unique ghost behaviour while standing inside and outside the ghost room several times. We gave up on waiting for a hunt.
Hattte this one personally. Been going thru it so many times but I’m 2/3.
However I will say, on my first, I got a Yokai. Funnily enough, when I was down to just a Yokai, a Mare, or an Onryo, I only need to dots to see if it was a Yokai. Throughout the entire game, it had not given me dots but when I decided to try testing out talking, it literally appeared in dots right as I was talking, which was pretty convenient. (And funny)
Then my next was actually a banshee. I was still looking for the room while using the para mic and I heard the scream.
The paramic was insane on my runs. It had no silence just massive ambient noises. Oh yea and someone needs to tell the Group that an EMF makes sound and should be included. Lol
11:10 – I've had a shade write in a book from the hallway while I was in the room with the book. So yes, it checks if you are in the room with the ghost… not the room with the book/candle.
15:50 – Honestly, you swing around the paramic a bit much for it to be reliable. Think of yourself as a pointable sound sensor… sometimes it is better to be a turret rather than constantly walking. I could tell by your movements that there were several rooms you were not covering while you were trying to seek out the throw sound.
But, whatever… you are so good at the game in general that the paramic doesn't really matter.
I'm more upset about how useless the sounds sensors still are. Sometimes the speed doesn't translate through them (had a revenant that was normal speed through sound sensors)… or nothing comes through them, or only the hunt sound with no feet.

33:57 – I've had a ghost throw the book, writing in it as part of the process. So the book was blank, I watched it throw the blank book, then opened it and it was written in. So either it didn't show me the writing until after the throw, or they can write as part of the throw.
i got very lucky on this challenge 1st game was a demon that hunted early the 2nd and 3rd games were both banshees i got the scream both times never found the ghost room
This was so painful and i was not able to Do it alone 😅 But funny nontheless😅
You ruled out banshee because of 5+ whispers no screams? Thought the scream was more rare? Had 3 mylings whose footsteps seemed too loud… because of hallway echoes….lol.
i was lucky to have the ghost in the courtyard so i could see the orb in the camera.

My ghosts were Hantu, Demon, Raiju and a Wraith. I guessed wrong on demon because it never hunted me and I was in the building for a long time so I assumed it wasn't. Figures I had the shyest demon lol.
Dude this challenge was miserable i did it with my friends on stream and our first ghost was a hantu as well, i just about fell out of my chair when i watched you pull 2 of those jack holes in a row… i dont know what it is with that challenge and hantus but its more cursed then all of the cursed possessions combined… also the fact that they dont have a MUSIC BOX in a AUDIO ONLY challenge is crazy… straight up neanderthal level thinking when into the making of this challenge.
I think they should just rename the challenge to "Go Use Sound Sensors Already". Because I'm pretty sure, that's the point of removing anything, that could help you find ghost room
Did this challenge with my mates tonight. We got a Mare, Obake, Raiju. The fuse box was out so without light cues, the Mare and Raiju had to be done with process of elimination. With the Obake, figured that one out cause it had pretty much no evidence and no activity. Thank god for the headcams so someone on the van could check for Ghost Orbs.
