  1. The sanity drain correction makes a lot more sense. It was stupid that you had to stand directly under the lightbulb to get any protection even though the bulk of the room was well lit. When it was like that there was no reason to turn on lights at all.

  2. This was actually an old bug that was happening a lot just having Sunny Meadows came out. I am pretty sure it got fixed though. The game has an unfortune habit where the some bugs occasionally come back again after everyone has thought they were fixed.

  3. Thanks for the information about the new light system!
It would be interesting to know whether a room like the garage in Willow counts as a "room with dark corners" and therefore drains 80% sanity

  4. Can you do some experiments on Edgefield? I died in the boys room closet while the ghost was in the Master bedroom. It was not a Wraith, what we initially thought, teleporting to me and not a mimic imitating a Wraith. As far as I remember it was a Demon. I had no lights on, no electronics in my hand. It just started hunting in Master bedroom and I died in the closet immediately

Love your content and streams ♥

  5. Do the firelight equipment still reduce drain appropriately?
How about a placed tier 2 or tier 3 firelight? Does it still check against those?

Curious because if it was using the same system for "being near light" that room lights were doing, then it wouldn't work anymore.. but if it is a "within X meters of the firelight" check, then it still might.

I've seen no mention of it in the notes or anyone talking about this. Hoping that means firelight is still reducing sanity drain the same despite the change.

  6. I think they could have just done a map bake that provides a light intensity for sized squared areas of the map. This would have done away with expensive calculations and allowed a more dynamic way of controlling your sanity.
As for the ghost detection bug, thankfully it's only on a few maps and only if the ghost is directly above or below you.

  7. The bug with the electronics through the floors is also bugged on Ridgeview. It happened to me yesterday. I was in the basement and ghost was upstairs in hallway and my flashlight flickered like crazy. Plus ghost roaming behaviour and changing rooms is also bugged. Ghost now can set waypoint through the floors and change the favorite room to whatever they want and wherever they want. For example i was in Ridgeview again and i had a ghost room in the basement, but it starts hunt from the bathroom upstairs. Ghost was a Goryo. Second time the ghost did the same thing again. Ghost room was in the garage > starts hunt from the girlsroom upstairs, ghost was Poltergeist. So it is no longer so the ghost may change room only to the closest room next to its favorite room. Hopefully devs will fix that asap, because it is annoyning af. Especially the ghost roaming through the floors.

  8. There's another scary bug going on right now with the Goryo, where if it decides to hunt while in DOTs mode, it will be completely invisible during the whole hunt. You'll just hear a ghost coming to your location and all of a sudden, you're dead. Fortunately this bug is extremely rare, I've had it happen only once ever since the update.

  9. I think this has happened to me a few times on Ridgeview. A hunt starts upstairs, I run downstairs to the fridge and drop a flashlight at my feet to test for Myling/Raiju, and it instantly runs down the stairs into the kitchen and around the back and kills me. There's a chance this wasn't a bug and I just got really unlucky several games, but I think this explains it better.

  10. Didn't happen to me, but it looks funny. The ghost just zooms in your direction from another floor.
Regarding the sanity-draining mechanic, it makes sense to reduce the game's computing workload. An infinite loop checking the status of the player in a lit room will consume a lot of power from your PC.

  11. I didn't pick it up at the time, but i definitely got tracked from the entrance in high school while it was upstairs, at the same time it kept getting stuck in multiple spots on highschool though.

  12. one "gotcha" to add to the electronics explanation: the polaroid camera, while not labeled as "electronic", is still electronic when taking pictures as the flash can still be detected, so don't take pictures if you don't want to be spotted.
another thing i see mentioned way too little that gets people killed constantly is that if voice communication is set to "voice activation", it often turns on randomly due to background noise without you even noticing, and the ghost will track that as well.
also, big room lighting only reducing sanity drain by 20% doesn't seem very good,

  13. Too bad they screwed up VR when they supposedly "fixed" VR. Now I can't grab door knobs when I need to and lighting smudge works maybe half the time. I die all the time now because of this "fix." Or if there's another VR player and they grab their journal all the items drop out of my hands. Or we can talk about a wraith hunting me at 96% sanity. Or pulling the high priestess (twice) and the dead player not coming back to life. Or the myling not making any noise at all. Saw the lights flicker and never heard footsteps or any sounds at all. Just death. So many bugs!

  14. I definitely noticed this while attempting to get my gold Apocalypse Challenge trophy, especially on the eastern half of the map. I sat in the Foyer or Manager's Office a few times and heard the ghost running up and down the stairs like it thought it was setting waypoints in the same room. Once, I was standing outside the locked entrance of the Female Wing with a parabolic microphone to find the ghost, and I heard it. I couldn't tell where it started from, but I definitely heard it run away (probably to the East Stairwell), then run underneath me, then to the entrance stairwell, and then it came straight to me and killed me.
