A few days ago I got the hanged man but it turned out to be the fool. Right after that I got the hanged man again but it also turned out to be the fool. I just got completely pranked

You have 1% chance of getting The Hanged Man, and if you pull a card for 10 times you literally increase your chance of getting it 10 times ~10%
It's pretty high for me as a gacha gamer so better not mess with the card if you wanna play safeeeeeee

Death card starts a cursed hunt specifically I think
I was playing with a friend and he immediately kept pulling cards when he found them. Got the priestess before any had died and then got the hanged man just after
so one thing its not just a regular old hunt with the death card, its a cursed hunt one of the dev said it it last a bit longer and all the hunt after having drawn that card will be longer

I personally don't recommend using the Tarot cards if you're playing Single Player. The chance of just killing yourself is too high to justify any benefits from the deck. In SP, you have 4 sanity pills and 4 smudge sticks, which allow you to basically hang around until you get ghost events, interaction and picture opportunities while remaining relatively safe. Why take a chance and do the ghost's job for it?
Find it, take a picture, get paid.

UPDATE: The high preistess card gives one extra life to the first player who dies but if someone is already dead and you pull the high preistess it will act like normal and revive a dead teammate
