A Ghost KILLS My Editor in VR | Phasmophobia

Jesse is once again joined by his office team/ totally certified ghost hunters to play some multiplayer horror games just in time for Halloween. Today we’re playing Phasmophobia, and my editor decided it was a good idea for him to play in VR. This cannot end well…

Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror. Paranormal activity is on the rise and it’s up to you and your team to use all the ghost hunting equipment at your disposal in order to gather as much evidence as you can.

  1. I was aware the second ghost was an obake as soon as it left a 6 finger fingerpint, but it is soooo much more entertaining watching people who are brand new to the game trying to figure out the ghost. Sometimes I miss that sense of adventure.

Meanwhile, Kendra, with an undead zombie thing stood on her spine: 😐

  3. Really wish the game forced new players to learn how each tool works effectively. I see so many people not using the tools correctly and getting frustrated because the game never taught them. (There's info in the journal, but no one reads that)

For Example: Thermom: Easiest way to find Ghost room, look for colder temps, it picks up temperature from where you're pointing it, not where you're standing. (Let the entire house Warm up though by turning on the breaker if it started off ASAP)
Sanity: Super important, lower it is, higher chance of the ghost being able to Hunt + kill you. Carrying around and being near lit Candles is an easy way to keep your sanity maxed as only a Ghost Event will lower it if you're carrying or near a lit one.
Microphone: Even if you're using Push to Talk, if your Microphone is on, the Ghost will hear and become more aggressive with any sound your microphone picks up. So use headphones and minimize talking while inside the house unless you want to piss off the ghost.
Spirit Box: Pretty much only works if you're alone in a pitch black room with all light sources off and it's a ghost that responds to Spirit box. (Including removing dots and turning off all flashlights)
DoTS: You'll see a slight silhouette of the ghost moving through it pretty quickly, easiest to see with a video camera.
Parabolic Mic: You'll hear voices when pointing it in the direction of the ghost.
Crucifix + Smudge Sticks: A crucifix can prevent a ghost from hunting if it starts it's Hunt near the Crucifix. Each one can prevent 3 hunts. Smudge Sticks can be used to get a Ghost to stop chasing you or nearby players but won't end the hunt, it's a good way to get the ghost off you long enough for you to hide somewhere. You can also outrun and kite the ghost around certain objects. (Unless it's a faster ghost, then goodluck)

  4. That was a lot of fun to watch! Also, THANK YOU for taking the time after the first hunt to acquaint yourselves with the basics before resuming recording! That helped save MY sanity for the next two! XD
