BIG Change to Custom Difficulty (but not enough yet) – Phasmophobia NEW Update

Welcome back to Phasmophobia! In this video we check the new change the devs just did for the custom difficulty. Instead of 80% reduction it’s now a 60% reduction. Which means you can now earn twice as much on the custom difficulty as before the nerf. Which is quite a large change but I don’t think we’re there yet. And the devs have also said they will be making more changes in the near future.

  1. How about they let people play how they want, when they add a leaderboards or stop people editing saves THEN care; until then you're just ruining peoples fun while still letting people be rich if they want to by save editing LMAO makes 0 fucking sense

  2. Hey insym I need your help… I can't load phasmo I tried Uninstaller and reinstalling and doing that and deleting all files but it will load / say it is running but doesn't launch any ideas

  3. I’ve been a big fan of watching your longer videos and I totally get why you’re editing them down. It’s a bit hard and confusing for me to follow. You start off in the truck and the next edit you’re setup and the ghost is hunting. I feel confused because I’m expecting the setup and the initial investigation.

  4. there shouldn't be a nerf anyways, it's ridiculous and only causes players to lose enjoyment with the game. changing it from 80 to 60 still seems like such a slap in the face. players hoarding money literally affects no one. all it does is allow people to have fun because they don't have to stress so much over losing all of their stuff and having to play like 3-5 games to make up the cost of all the equipment they have to repurchase. i don't think anyone cared that other people were trying to hoard money, since it has zero affect on the game play of others.

  5. I feel like they need to split the factors into multiple sections, with each setting being additive with its own section (e.g. hunt lethality (speed type things), hunt frequency (sanity type things), investigation difficulty (evidence type things), etc) and then make the sections multiplicative with each other, so maxing out everything is still worth a ton, but you can't make settings that make other settings meaningless (e.g. super lethal hunts, but with settings that let you stay out of the hunting range of anything that isn't a demon or mimic demon all game long.)

  6. everyone is so worried about the money part of it, and the devs are worried about the level/xp part of it, so wouldn't an easy fix be to leave the money multiplier alone and then abolish gaining XP from customs?
or perhaps make it so only the money from guessing the ghost type is multiplied

  7. I don't like the way they handled custom difficulty rewards. I think the player should be able to get the full reward, but they have to earn it by completing everything. The reward would be split into different pieces, and each piece is tied to completing an objective or filling the photo book. I think this is a better way to handle people exploiting custom difficulty rewards because it forces them to actually play the game, and people who try to use old exploits on it are essentially just wasting their time.

  8. I would love to see a list of preset difficulties for challenges (x24 challenge, no evidence, etc. with predetermined reward multipliers), a small list of adjustments for the main difficulties (like turning on screens for Nightmares or off for Professional with a minimal change to the multiplier), and then the crazy custom difficulty list. Overall, it might be a bit much for the devs to implement, but it's an idea to play around with.

  9. The reduction should stay at 80% but all custom difficulty settings could just use the Apocalypse rules. You have to do all objectives, get the ghost photo, and correctly guess then you get the full reward. Anything less then that gets the 80% reduction. At least then it has to actually be earned instead of just cheesing the rewards.

  10. the reward change is the biggest slap in the face! Sure, anything over 10x is too much, but seriously! My friends and I had done tinkering and made a slightly harder custom 7.35x nightmare that is now invalidated due to the 80% reduction. Custom is worthless to play now.. AND normal nightmare giving less money??? likey theyre on crack

  11. It's such a simple fix they're so dumb, they could 1 limit max possible multiplier, to 4x or 5 UNLESS is above the original 20x so the very hard challenge still gives a lot than change the max to 10x or so, or 2 if the custom is lower or equal than 4x than don't reduce anything to get this low you don't have many advantages or disadvantages is basically nightmare with some changes, my favorites are at 5.20 something and 4.05? 3.50? Something like that very low 4 or 3 if I change one thing, it's just nightmare without some annoying things

  12. The Custom difficulty should not give rewards or same as play professional is something to try the game in different settings and not to progresse the game like every other game that as custom difficulty.

  13. No, why should it matter how much money you make anyway? Coming from someone who sucks at this game, being able to tweak certain things is nice, the hit I take from dying just keeps me and my friends stuck. It punishes people who want to enjoy the game but aren't very good at it. Why not have a counterbalance, where if your multiplier is lower, you don't get punished for dying as much and don't lose all of your equipment. Like high risk high reward and high punishment, low risk low reward and low punishment?

  14. I'm failing to see the problem with the rewards. This is not a competitive game. You either play by yourself or with other people. Why should it matter what level or how much money you have be an issue? People bought the game to play and have fun. By screwing with the custom difficulty, it pushes people away from trying new things. The cost of some of the items has increased since the new lobby. So now they want to take away some rewards. If you die, you have to buy more equipment and spend more on it since it costs more than it used to. Make that make sense.

  15. Hello Insym! I've been a fan for a long time and I hope you'd play Little Misfortune and Fran Bow. They are oldies but goodies. It's a more of a psychological horror game and I think it would honestly fit your playstyle as they it focuses on player based decisions, achievements and lessons on mental health. I cannot recommend this game enough for you. Hopefully you see this c:

  16. Hey Insym I got a challenge for you I don't think I've really seen you try in phasmo but its called the 3 item challenge. You pick 3 item from the truck and those are the only item you can use to figure out the ghost. If you wanna count the flashlight as 1 that's up to you.
