The tarot cards are a mixed bag some restore sanity some drain some can cause a ghost to hunt and on the 1% chance it can outright kill you in multiplayer its a 1% it can revive you. There are usually 10 cards in a deck
The voodo doll has pins each pin corresponds to an action the heart pin causes a hunt to happen.
And the circle light the candles take your picture and GET OUT. It causes a hunt after the ghost breaks out.
As for ghosts pay some mind to their behaviour. If you think your dealing with a poltergeist or an oni move the throwable items out of the room. Poltergeists tend to “calm down”
If you can listen to footstep speed revenants have very slow footsteps when you hide while others have crazy fast feet.
If you want more id recommend looking at guys like insym nuzzguard and psycho they all have lots of experience with the game and know far more than i do

So, in order to light the candles, you have to have a certain amount of sanity, because each candle you light takes 16 sanity, if you have sanity and are pressing f on the candles, then it might be bugged
