  1. So, here’s my thought process:

Given how wide the door was opened at 2:23, I’m thinking Yokai. Immediately after that, it blew out your candle, so I’m thinking Yokai or Onryo. Then we saw the ghost and I was between phantom (given the clear model) and shade given the lack of activity outside the room. Then at the hunt I believe it to be a Thaye or Deo – but it never had a fast speed, so it must be a Thaye (hopefully not a footstep-busted Deo lol)

  2. I actually got it right. I have to say watching you, Insym and CJ all the time has helped me become a beast which is hilarious when we get lower levels in our lobbies 🤣

  3. My initial guesses were Myling and Phantom until I saw it didnt hunt below 50ish percent sanity, I was thinking Deogen and had already crossed off Thaye since the thaye in the beginning wasnt very active, but when I saw the hunting speed I tossed up between Hantu and Thaye, but then chose Thaye overall for the speed and its lack of interactions. It clicked that it was probably a thaye that didnt get its chance to be active with Psycho near the ghost a lot. The ghost also had a lot of time to show freezing, and never did, which is guaranteed for the Hantu so with that and how low sanity it needed to hunt at, i chose thaye.

I saw the ghost was also pretty inactive in the beginning, but I had crossed off shade early because it did do a couple interactions which wasnt shade-like.

overall im glad i was right haha

  4. This is a wonderful idea for a series! Love putting phasmo knowledge to the test and seeing what I can learn to improve.

My guess for this ghost is going completely against what I felt could be ruled out due to its initial behavior, but at one point in a hunt it did a very unusual behaviour that ruled out all but two ghosts for me, and thinking a bit more about how consistent it was in both hunts it performed leads me to the answer of Thaye. Very few ghosts can be slow during a hunt and the tip off for me was how it never sped up for any reason. At this point as well I had ruled out all but 4-5 ghosts and that first hunt confirmed it. And if I'm wrong I will learn something new hopefully haha

I am proud of myself because this is a ghost I actually know alot less about than the rest of the game! But yeah I figured out the reason that the ghost was slow was because it was a late stage aged Thaye.

  5. Oh, you need to do more videos of this kind, it really was fun!
I was pretty good with figuring out what ghosts can be crossed out due to different things that happened but in the end I got trolled because I'm not familiar with the new ghosts yet, so I was thinking about a Mare first, than Shade (although too active), than Deogen and in the end… well, the correct ghost thanks to you (he got trolled because he was so inactive for so long). So nice try, I need to work harder to get better <3

  6. I was more thinking about a shade. The Thaye confuses me because I don't find him really active at the start of games. In this one, I even found him more active below 40% sanity (the few ghost manifestations in the kitchen and living). But the hunts didn't left more doubt regarding its identity.
Great concept even tho I suck at ghost guessing without evidence ^^

  7. cool video concept. A guide of some sort would be nice to see what which gosts can and can not do (eg. early hunt, fast, etc) . A (Google) spreadsheet or something is surely out there somewhere…

  8. Never played Phasmo before, but I've watched people play it for hours and hours. The earlier ghost event (the shutting door) got me guessing that it was a Yokai, because I heard it has a special ability to take your sanity by closing the door near you. But I also wonder why he didn't hunt yet after a long time, and boy if that hunt never happened, I probably can't tell that is a Thaye 😂

  9. Which ghosts you could safely cross before the first hunt out and why:

[Wraith] After stepping in salt, you could see footprints with the UV light which doesn't work for wraiths (they step around but don't leave visible footprints)
[Demon] A demon would've hunted at 70% sanity already which this ghost didn't do
[Goyro] Although Goryos rarely leave their ghost room, this ghost wandered into the kitchen way to often to be a Goryo
[Moroi] The Morio can curse you through a paramic sound which would've quickly drained his sanity even in the light, resulting in a way earlier hunt (which only happend after many ghost events)
[Shade] The Shade does almost nothing (and can't do anything at all when a player in in the same room I believe) but this ghost kept touching doors and turning on the car alarm nonstop so there was no way this was a Shade) (and yes, the Shade becomes more active as sanity decreases but this ghost was pretty crazy from the start)
[Oni] The Oni can't do the mist cloud ghost event which this ghost did do though
[Twins] At no point was there any audible twinteraction (meaning two interactions directly after each other) plus all the interactions happend within or very close to the same ghost room altough the twin ghost can reach alot further than other ghosts
[Hantu] The hantu always has freezing temps on nightmare however there was never any freezing breath
[Jinn] The ghost turned off the breaker at one point which the Jinn can't do as its abilities rely on the power being on
[Mare] The ghost never even once turned of the light (or maybe only once, not sure) and didn't try to actively flee its lit up ghost roo which are both common Mare traits

Ghost that were still possible and could not be safely crossed out before the first hunt:

[Poltergeist] Altough the ghost never did a multi-throw, it was still active enough to be a Poltergeist
[Spirit] This ghost has no special trait besided not being able to hunt for 3 minutes after being smudged and there was no hunt yet
[Banshee] Although the ghost never did a paramic banshee scream, it didn't mean it wasn't a Banshee as the scream is pretty rare
[Phantom] Psycho unfortunately couldn't get a ghost photo (which he tried to do) because that could've revealed the special trait of a Phantom turning invisible when flashed with a photo cam
[Revenant] The revenant really has no special traits outside of a hunt which didn't happen yet so this one was still possible
[Yurei] Although the ghost didn't ever do the special Yurei sanity drain ability (which is indicated by a dorr being fully closed and the closing sound playing slightly delayed), it is still a pretty rare ability so that could've still happend
[Yokai] Although Psycho did talk quite a bit around the ghost room, the Yokai can only do an early hunt at 80% or lower when the player is pretty much on top of the ghost and you I don't think Psycho ever really tried to follow the ghost while talking to it (could be wrong on this)
[Onryo] Psycho hardly had any candles on near the ghost and although the ghost did blow out the first candle really quickly, that couldn't be taken as a guaranteed proof, instead multiple candles should've bee brought in to test if they constantly get blown out by the ghost
[Myling] The ghost did quite a few of sounds on the paramic so this one was definitely still possible
[Deogen] The Deogen is nothing too special outiside of a hunt and also a late hunter so it was still possible
[Obake] The only special trait about the obake is it rarely leaving a unique type of finger print and also only leaving finger prints with a 75% chance so there was not way to test this without a UV light
[Mimic] The ghost did seem to have a pretty consistent behavior but the Mimic could've technically switched between very similar ghosts during the investigation
[Raiju] The Raiju can effect electronic equipment from a lot further during ghost events and hunts but Psycho was always to close to the ghost conclude this was the case

How the hunt helped tell which ghost it is (I'm gonna keep this one shorter):

We knew the ghost was a very late hunter which really only applies to the Shade (35%) and the Thaye (15% when at its oldest stage) but due to the ghost being very slow and not speeding up during the hunt, the Thaye, which had aged significantly due to Psycho being close to the ghost for a long time. Now due to the ghost having this very behavior for multiple hunts, we could cross the the Mimic which would've switched its ghost type already.

  10. Had it down to two ghost, was thinking Hantu or Thaye after seeing the hunt speed and that it didn't speed up near the end. I guessed wrong though unfortunately.

My reasoning for not picking Thaye was that it seemed way too inactive early that I was originally leaning Shade for quite a while. Also the fact it flipped off the breaker twice was also something that made me lean toward Hantu. Guess the tell was that because you were low sanity and it still wasn't hunting should have took Hantu off the list, but I just figured it was a ghost that just didn't wanna hunt.

  11. As someone whose computer just broke, I really enjoyed the video, it felt like me playing again. Only the fun part where you get to talk to different troll players didn’t get included.
