DON'T Leave Doors Open in ASYLUM! – Phasmophobia Tips [LVL 4896]

This is a very important Phasmophobia tip! People often ask me how to find the ghost room in Asylum, and THIS is one of the most important tips I can give you: DO NOT leave any doors open. If you make sure that all doors are closed this means that a SINGLE DOOR TOUCH from the ghost will allow you to find the exact location of the ghost by looking for the one door that’s open. If you do not close all doors this will not be possible and you might be looking for the ghost room for a very long time. I hope this was helpful! Much love and see you during the streams 😀

  1. Yeah asylum is the most fun for me but that's only if players are searching efficiently. This was not a new tip for me since i've learned it while playing big maps so much but yeah hope this helps people to understand to never let doors opened. But honestly i think this is not only for Asylum. Sure it's better in the biggest map but School and Prison also are good example imo of maps where you should never leave doors opened. I will never forget a run i did in School a long time ago when i still let doors opened and i got destroyed by a roaming or corridor ghost. I was 2 hours in the same run and had no evidence and 0 pills while being chain hunted. Just left that run because of my own stupidity. Never ever again lol

  2. I play asylum everyday alone and always had. This is the only way I can find the ghost room .
If I happen to get one the doors that swing inwards and the ghost doesn't turn on the light, it ends up being a very long game lol .
Have u seen tge new phas looking game out ? Hate that people are saying it's better than phas . But it does look pretty cool .

  3. I have an idea for this game to make it harder. The "blink effect". This effect will make your screen blink once every 3 seconds. Now blinking will have a very very low chance of spawning the ghost, the chance gets higher after some hunts. You have an option to not blink for 15 secs by pressing a key on your keyboard but be aware that this will dry your eyes making you close your eyes for 5 secs, which makes a 25% chance of spawning the ghost. Every time you exceed, it adds 0.1 second to your eyes' rest time and 5% to the ghost spawn chance. Making it a 6 second rest after 10 "exceed-ment". Tho if you don't close your eyes for 14 secs, you will be able to regenerate some moist on your eyes, and yes, it requires blinking.

  6. This is a great tip, and one I completely endorse. It will, at worst, get you close to the ghost room and that's usually enough to score some evidence.
That said, today I offer a cautionary tale about using this method since like so many things considered foolproof in Phasmophobia, it is not so…

Two nights ago, my team and I did a match in Asylum vs a super quiet ghost. Even with two people running candle strats looking for open doors and the third sweeping with thermometer/paramic, it took around 40 minutes to find the ghost room and it happened purely by chance than deliberation.

After restoring the power for the fifth time, I looked around the area near breaker and noticed one of the doors I had searched before was partially open. As Insym suggests here, if you close all doors after searching in Asylum, the ghost will eventually mess with one.
From there, I searched the area more thoroughly and found a room with an open door AND its lights on.

"Aha! This is the ghost room!"

So our team did the usual routine, picking up Ghost Writing and Fingerprints immediately while eliminating freezing temps…but it just would not cough up the last bit of evidence (Ghost Orbs or EMF5). 20 minutes of diving the (remote) ghost room later, I had placed multiple cameras and remote sensors inside the room and in the hallway just outside.

In the course of these dives, I managed to get the ghost SUPER pissed at me with soliciting multiple "angry" ghost events and clear stalking behavior. Moreover, I heard it opening and closing doors all around me though strangely, it only rarely touched the door in the ghost room. During this barrage of events, our van tech saw multiple EMF 5 events on the scanner that's consistent with the current "best" method of determining EMF remotely.
So we checked off EMF5 (aka, Revenant) and left, glad to finally be done with that ghost hunt.
    .
    .
    .
    .
    "The ghost was a Hantu."

There was a lot of swearing right after that.

Prior to leaving, I had expressed some doubt about the EMF5 evidence, since I am always skeptical of van-based determinations of that.
Sure enough and once again, the myth of van-read EMF5 being foolproof was debunked. (DON'T. ONLY. USE. THE. VAN. Only a real EMF reader can give you a five.)

But what felt off to me was the ghost's behavior around the sensors, and it's here where I really should have used the little grey cells a bit more.

First, some context: The after-action stats said we had spent a total of 1 minute in the actual ghost room (highest among all of us).
Now, I know for a fact we spent at least 10 minutes in the targeted room, mostly trying to get spirit box and ghost pics for an objective.
So that 1 minute must have occurred during our long sweep of the area.

Very similarly to Insym's nightmare asylum ghost video from a few weeks ago, the ghost roaming was highly misleading and made tracking the ghost nearly impossible. Unlike Insym, I never got lucky and spotted the Ghost Orbs for the confirmed evidence.

    What had I missed?
It all comes down to the motion and sound sensors; those things considered "useless" by so many players, but which were key to victory here, if only I had been paying closer attention and worked on that hunch.

So, fun fact about the ghosts in Phasmophobia: No matter what the ghost's personality, type or activity level is it MUST regularly teleport back to its favorite room and wander about inside. If you have motion sensors within the real room AND sensors around possible exits, it will regularly set the off the former and occasionally trip the latter. The ghost will also make a consistent amount of sound within. (how much depends on how many objects the ghost has to interact with/throw in its room, but even in a completely bare room, the ghost always makes at least a small amount of sound when it returns)

It's the least ambiguous way to confirm a ghost room now, since as demonstrated in Insym's asylum video, ghost orbs can apparently wander with the ghost now, and cold temps can be very inconsistent when the ghost wanders far and often.
