Im curious, why doesnt the ghost follow you into the closet? I saw it in other clips as well. Doesnt it follow you to the place where it last saw you?

Genuine question, stressing on this game 🤦🏽♂️😂 how do you just hide instant from them? I can’t seem to do that, as soon as I hide, turn off all the equipments and the ghost still walks in and kills me? Any tips for a new player!?
Do you have to close the door when hiding?
Can an oni do this as well? I had a run when we tested the salt and made the ghost walk over it bit didn't leave a step so we picked wrath but it turned out to be an oni.
