I Did a Stupid Challenge for Level 9800 – Phasmophobia

Welcome back to Phasmophobia! In this video we do a ridiculous challenge for level 9800. We are playing Phasmophobia with a controller… Needless to say this is going to make the game much more difficult. We will also do a photo randomizer which means I’ll have to try and make good photos while using a controller. WHY DID I DO THIS?? I hope you enjoy!

  1. Maybe try remapping the buttons to make doors something easier to hit like l2 using x to turn things on and off seems like it would make more sense to not get murdered over being stuck at a door

  2. Here a challenge: You can use all items but once you drop them you cant use them anymore, including monitor is also a one time use, so better placing all cameras first and then checking the monitor. Same with cursed possesions maybe? Though up to Insym on how to custimize this challenge.

  3. I can't play phasmo with a controller because my character walks backwards or sideways if leave it still. It's NOT my controller, as I have zero issues whatsoever it all other games. Any idea why this happens. or how to fix it ? I can't play on keyboard right now because my fingertip is injured, so the controller would come handy

  4. As someone who has played with controller for ~200 hours, I've found a couple things that make is way more manageable. The first and most important is to re-bind the right bumper to the normal interact button (I move the push to talk there to just have both on left bumper, not sure what all effect that has but I mostly play solo and it works for interacting with things). This makes it so much easier to open doors and interact with everything due to the issue mentioned here (that it's hard to use the stick while pressing x). I also like to adjust/slow the response curve for the sticks using steam so that smaller movements don't jerk it around as much. This helps a lot with picking stuff up (which is still the area I feel the most clunky in normal gameplay with a controller). The menus are pretty bad (though actually much better than when I first started). If it gets stuck the only fix I've found is clicking once with the mouse like you did.

ETA: I forgot the remapping of that button isn't even allowed in the game until reading other comments. I use Steam big picture mode so I just have my controller configuration there change the right bumper to map to the a button :).

  5. Honestly at first when trying my controller on phasmo I thought it's gonna be disaster, but since my first games I ever played were on my ps3 it wasn't that much of a big deal. I remember I tried to use steering wheel to play but sadly it didn't work, this would be a disaster x)

  6. Man, I play on PC and I use a controller. I just suck at keyboard controls, because I don't have a desk. I do keep my mouse next to me so I can keep closet/locker doors closed during hunts. It's going to be rough on console.
