  1. Hi – random question, but is your stream opening music written by one of you or something you found and used? – much like Worldmap that Oxbox use it's terrific – noticed it first with The Journey playthrough.

  2. Ian with the Godzilla shirt… But the first part of the katakana isn't quite right.
(Edit: ok it's apparently not. Anybody know what it does say? It's so close to Gojira.) (Edit 2: Kojima shirt… Nice)

  5. Haunted asylums always occupy a… difficult place in the genre. Because on one hand, the Gothic/Victorian horror tropes around psychology and mental illness are very hard to escape. On the other, in my (certainly not representative, I make no claim to that) experience in the US, the stories around actual allegedly haunted asylums here tend to focus more on the horrific conditions of early 20th century facilities and the abuses committed against patients than anything else. Spirits are disquieted, not because they had mental illnesses, but because of mistreatment they received. The former attitude's by no means absent, of course, especially not in media representations. But it seems like the actual stories tend to view the ghosts as victims of an often brutal and uncaring system. My mom was shown around a shuttered asylum when she was getting her RN in the 70's, and she was aghast at how medieval, dark, and creepy everything was. I definitely get why horror writers are attracted to that kind of setting. But I definitely agree with you guys that the games industry, and media in general, needs to either have a conversation about how to do a respectful depiction of haunted mental institutions (and commit to actually doing it), or just not do them at all.

  6. For the make-up level-up suggestions, maybe a Subnautica inspired one? Could potentially build a look around the color pallet of one the creatures, like The Reaper Leviathan or one of the Peeper species.

  7. Ian's "massive caulk" almost stole the show for a while there.

It's great to see Phasmophobia grow with each new patch. I like imagining where it might go next: Maybe procedurally-generated houses that arrange the rooms into new and challenging layouts, forcing you to go exploring and get lost each time. Or ghosts that can be placated by finding hidden items revealing the secret behind their demise, or their unfinished business. Or ghosts that can track the team by appearing in reflections, photos or TV screens. The possibilities are as endless as they are deeply unsettling.

  8. Make Up Level Up idea: As someone mentioned Subnautica Sub Zero, what about something from there? There are a lot of colorful fish or underwater biomes to choose if you want something colorful. You can also go aquatic colors with an icy shimmer or some hard lined metallics to reflect some of the types of ships/tech you use to survive.
