Phasmophobia: The Forgotten Frights is a PhasmoRPG inspired series. The forgotten frights requires one team of individuals to go and reach Nightmare Asylum. In order to reach that, players must unlock each map and unlock each map tree. Once the series starts the player starts off with $0 and must work their way up to the ultimate $10,000, that is Nightmare Asylum. In order for the series to be completed, the player(s) must reach Nightmare Asylum and figure out the ghost type correctly. Only once that is achieved may the ghost hunters retire from their missions. The primary hunter may purchase things that can help them in their endeavors, such as revives, removal of traits, and even the ability to bring other hunters with them. There are 6 characters that the player can play as. If one of them dies, they are permanently dead, unless the player uses a revive. After a medium or big map is completed, a negative trait must be applied to the character that played it. This only applies if the hunter survives. If someone (that isn’t the main hunter) dies, the primary hunter loses $200 for each death. If the primary hunter dies, they are permanently dead and they lose some equipment. Unlike Nuzzgard’s PhasmoRPG. The equipment at the start is provided. If a hunter dies and loses some equipment, it is then the hunters responsibility to pay for them again. All maps must be played at least once before an Asylum mission is attempted. Once an Asylum mission is completed, and the primary hunter survives, the next map tree can be unlocked. A wheel is spun to determine the negative trait that the characters receives at the end of a mission.
