  1. Thanks to this video, I just finished a Professional Asylum level where 2 of the 3 other people quit, we had zero sanity, and no evidence and still guessed the ghost correctly based on behavior lol

  3. My playstyle: run around with thermometer and UV light, helping find the ghostroom and then leave the building screaming when seeing the ghost for the first time, leaving my mates behind. then chilling in truck until 2 of em die and the last one flees as well xD

  4. We had that Oni in Brownstone Highschool recently.
    We couldn't find it anywhere because for some reason we forgot to check one room right next to the entrance, so our sanity was already pretty much worn down.
    Then the Oni must have hung around the entrance all the fucking time, because we couldn't even enter the school without instantly triggering a hunt. It was terrifying.. but we were able to pin point down that it was an Oni with a single piece of evidence, that was funny.

  5. This was really informative! I actually had a pants shitting moment yesterday with buddies on farmhouse. One was upstairs trying to find dirty water (ghost was an Oni in the first room) and I saw this mfer appear infront of the camera we set up, look right at me, then look back at the camera for like 20 secs and disappear when I called for my buddy to come back down

  6. My first ever mission, not knowing any of this, was with some friends in a smaller farmside cabin. It ended up being a Yurei and I was the only one in the house at the end because everyone else bailed to the van. Got 3 hunts specifically on me, 2 of them back to back. I didn't die but god damn was that scary 🙁

  8. Man, i kind of dislike the way ghosts speak through the spirit box like any other human and they sound so fed up with the world. Like "attack 0_0" – I volunteer to make some ghostly intimidating vocals if you see this Kinetic games… I know its only important that the ghost gives a sign through the spirit box for evidence purposes, but i feel like it kind of weakens the artistic side of the game…

  9. 18:58 I had one situation with a very shy ghost where this allowed us to know which corner of the room it would frequent. This let us know where to set up a camera and wait for ghost orbs. Other than that idk what it’s used for

  10. You are completely right about the Wraith being able to kill you by going through stuff during a hunt. I had a wraith spawn in the laundry room, ignore my friend standing in the kitchen, and to go through the wall into the hall closet where I was hiding and kill me. It was on that really small house with the 2 kids rooms at the front left.

  11. Busting the Phantom myth, it cannot possess a player. However the Phantom can indeed catch the model of one of the players and walk near you. It's pretty easy to notice when you see someone just walking straight with a little a bit of lag without context, then disappear afte a few seconds. I am not sure if it counts towards the Phantom's power, so idk if looking at it will decrease your sanity. Good luck exploring.

  12. I feel like almost NONE of these tips are actually working…
    Smudge sticks don't do anything for me. They don't calm the ghost, they don't buy me any extra time once a hunt has started.
    Poltergeists don't make much noise in my games. I've had 3 today and all of them seemed kinda shy and never once did I have an object moving. Only some lights flickering every now and then.
    "Can you give me a sign?" never works for me. And it's not an issue with my mic or speech recognition. The spirit box works perfectly fine.

  13. some things id like to add:
    27:23 yes the wraith cant actually see doors (including locker doors) their pathing and sight will ignore them BUT while they can go through walls they cant SEE through walls so if your being hunted hiding in a room out of sight of a door or running away is your best bet (you can still hide or run :D)
    28:11 I don't know about that event but something unique to the phantom is when it appears (spook/not a hunt) it can take the form of a hunter even the one looking at it so you may not know your looking at a phantom sometimes and that sanity drop can be killer if you don't realize its happened

    30:36 the oni can also throw many items although it will be AT the player rather then randomly also fun fact if you find ghost orbs and finger prints the poltergeist is the only ghost it can be even if it doesn't talk on the box as its the only ghost with both orbs and fingerprints
    30:50 banshees will ignore sanity in relation to hunts. it rather uses its "power" to mark a player then, walk from its room to that player. after it finds this player and they move out of its line of sight the banshee it will then start a hunt 20 seconds later. unique to the banshees hunt is the fact it CANT be lost, and will ignore doors and sightlines, its pathing will always go to the hunted player relentlessly, against a banshee its impossible to hide as the hunted(if a hunt begins immediately as you walk in the door on professional its a banshee as only they can do that) also due to it rarely being inside its room and rather with the hunted player finding a banshee room can be a bit of a challenge without the Ouija board
    33:50 on the jinn only thing i can add is on the unique strength they are fast until they are close, then the player can outrun them if this happens its pretty obvious its a jinn even with no evidence
    34:00 actually the banshee would probably take that title as they fallow the hunted player around and do actions around them but yeah the mare is annoying for that. on the hunt bit the mare has a +10 mod for beginning a hunt in darkness while a -10 mod for when its room is lit up (the 10 and -10 mods are in relation to the average sanity where the 10 makes the threshold for starting a hunt lower and -10 raising the threshold for hunting of hunting) otherwise its quite like the spirit
    36:30 in relation to its power yeah hiding is the best thing you can do as when it cant see anyone its the slowest ghost in a hunt. if your on the asylum it will not even get across half the map before it disappears without seeing anyone. HOWEVER if it can see you this is the only ghost that can outrun you even while close to you. so you cant run against this ghost as it will catch up and kill you (without smudge sticks resetting its pathing and hiding again)
    37:21 the shade. yeah nothing really here other then how phasmophobia handles what "close" is, you both have to be in the same room for it to count, if your on either end of a door even if you could reach out and kiss the person on the other side of the open door, the ghost will count you as apart in different rooms and can still attack, so watch out for that
    38:00 the demon has a +15 mod to hunting so your sanity can be way higher and still have the demon hunt a lot and when your at 0 sanity….. well lets just say its odd when its NOT hunting you down
    also no ghost (not even the banshee using its power) can attack during setup time HOWEVER you can end this setup time early by saying the ghosts name alot or using the Ouija board (not guarantee on either but if you do either enough it will happen) also if you fail a question on the Ouija board it will still tank sanity by 40% only successful ones wont do anything with a demon
    39:00 actually the activity level of a ghost is not factored into the chance of a hunt starting. only sanity and the ghost's hunting modifier / power effect the probability of a hunt starting so a smudged yurei can start a hunt right there if sanity is low enough (although it wont have a targeted player due to the smudging and will just wonder aimlessly but it can still start a hunt and if a player walks into it they will die)
    39:50 i feel as if this is a misconception due to the yurei draining sanity faster then most ghosts ghost's hunts are purely based of sanity and its own hunting mod (demon or mare) if your at low average sanity then the ghost has a decently high chance of starting a hunt at any moment. also candles help sanity. they greatly reduce sanity drop while lit and nearby. so against a yuuri or phantom candles and sanity pills will be your savior
    40:37 the oni reacts the opposite of the shade if you are alone the oni wont hunt a lot but if your together the oni hates all of you and will hunt a lot making it easily mistakeable for the demon as 2 of its evidences are shared with the demon, also the oni will throw things At players making it somewhat mistakable for a phantom, and when it finds the hunters it gets more active making it mistakable for both the banshee or the jinn. the oni is just the ghost that can be mistaken for a lot of other ghosts. the oni can be a nightmare to deal with if you like sticking in groups.

    edit for gameplay: in the part of the book where you input the evidence you can see what types of ghost it can be when you have some evidence in like when you got the emf 5 and spirit box in if you click the arrows that select the ghost it will go though all ghosts with those 2 evidence pieces (although it wont say what they do nor what they need for it to be that one)

  14. There’s one type of ghost that really hates light, so the infrared light sensor can help deter it from an area even if the power is out.
    Also salt is surprisingly effective at keeping wraiths away.
    I was with some friends and we once actually unintentionally trapped a wraith between two salt piles. We knew it was there because the motion sensor kept going off, and although it was absolutely p!ssed, it wasn’t able to leave the area due to being surrounded by salt. Could be a useful tool for escaping them in a hunt, as they will be forced to find a way around, albeit they can walk through walls.

  15. Hey, was planning on getting this game and watched this guide so I know what I'm getting myself into. Quick question: does a ghost's roaming tendencies apply to its hunting range? For example, the Jinn does not roam much, so a) will it only start a hunt when people are in its room, and b) When it starts a hunt, will it leave the room to chase after players? Very informative guide, thanks a lot.
