  1. how do y'all hate Arca's Path so much 😂 I love it. Such a well designed game. I'm baffled lol. Great music too. Also it absolutely is narrative driven, has a great narrative, that's one of the things I love about it! But I do think it's understandable some people wouldn't get it (it's a bit abstract and minimalist) or connect to it. It's basically a narrative about colonization/decolonization on small-scale. Breaking out of a system of control that's been placed upon you without you realizing it (at first) or consenting to it.

for the one person out there who thinks that sounds interesting and also is still using their old psvr, I highly recommend it!

  2. It’s funny how two of the stories in this episode are connected. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s a victim complex, but the VR2 fanbase’s public response to the Astro news is bordering on that, and it’s strange to me that this is being viewed as a positive.

Does anyone really believe that PlayStation management isn’t aware that VR2 owners want Astro? Of course they are, so what value does spamming that fact in every Astro media comment section provide? Moreover, PlayStation has what actually matters to the decision-making process of publicly traded companies, the data. If you look at the Helldivers 2 situation, the PC audience had contributed more than half of the sales that had propelled the game to being PlayStation’s fastest-selling ever; PlayStation had a lot to lose, a lot to gain, and they were legally on weak footing due to a legalese oversight on their official website. They did (mostly) back down, but they did that because that’s what made financial sense for the company, publishing PSVR2 games doesn’t.

There’s a story this week about Capcom skipping Xbox with a title seemingly outside of any money-hatting or technical consideration, and Xbox fans are vocally upset about it, but companies don’t play favourites and executives aren’t fanboys–they have a legal responsibility to shareholders to make the optimum decision for growth and returns. We know from the Capcom leak that Xbox sales are laughably bad compared to its peers, and we can debate whose fault that is, but that doesn’t change the decision Capcom has to make.

There are a lot of considerations and some edge case reasonings, (money hats, licensor requirements, platform management, etc), but essentially you take the cost of an additional target platform, the projected return from that platform, you compare that to the potential returns from other comparable uses of those resources, (the opportunity cost), and if it’s the highest return on the list, you do that, then you repeat that process until everything on the list is done, or they fall below viable and resources are moved to the next project.

No one is skipping PSVR2 out of spite or malice, including PlayStation.

  3. Man, the new kayak level has really got me thinkin PSVR2 could really last all the way thru PS6 as well.. it really shows that we still havent seen its ceiling in terms of performance. There were moments playing that i forgot it wasnt real. (Yes i was high, obvs). Absolutely stunning. And imagine with PS5Pro or PS6 with even smoother fps, no pop in, etc.. so insane. HDR is the one. Makes such a difference when a game really uses that extra contrast.

  4. For the survey link, make sure to mention THE HARDWIRED CABLE on the headset people!!! It's a shame that if someone trips over it and damages it you have to buy an entire new headset just for a broken cable…

  5. the value proposition for quest is way better than psvr2, this is why people are way more vocal on psvr side, because we are upset with the way Sony is treating us, we spend a lot of money for psvr2 and we‘ve had not a single PSVR2 exclusive from Sony itself, which is not a hybrid or oldgame. I own both quest 3 and psvr 2 and i love my psvr2 but mostly for gt7. If i need to choose between psvr and quest, i choose quest anyday. In other words, both headsets come with different expectations, quest surpassed my expectations, i use it daily for pcvr, standalone and media watching, its my homecinema and its suprisingly a better feeling to watch my movies with it than my 65 Oled screen and all this without a cable.

PSVR on the other hand should be a hardcore gaming experience but lack of real firstparty support in terms of the overall user experience and games is pretty bad, i dont regret it tho, because gt7 and re7 saves the whole thing for me. Just my two cents

  6. Walkabout should find out how to do what astro does and notify you when your friend beats your personal best on a course.. or if you could "challenge" ppl from the home area

I must've opted out of something for playstation cause i didn't get an email.

I wouldve told them that we need Alyx on ps5 so we can have all the psvr2 benefits with one of the most sought after vr games

  7. My own response to the Stellar Plans VR tweet, is PSVR gamers want console-quality games, nothing to be excited about or never seen before with Stellar Plans. The developer can spend years to bake his game before it feels like a PlayStation game.
