Hello! Some exciting news. A few interesting updates have been added to the Trello Roadmap in regards to tweaking the ghosts to make them more difficult to deal with during hunts. This will be part of an upcoming Beta branch update.
In this video I’ll be talking about these changes, and what we may expect to see in the near future.

  1. Definitely agree that just increasing ghost speed would create unfair situations. Increasing it as the hunt goes on makes more sense, or possibly even linking it to line of sight so the more a ghost sees you during a hunt, the more dangerous it becomes

  2. Every time I've tried to loop the ghost it always gets me. The ghost doesn't just follow the straight line you follow it will go at an angle to catch you. I think the difficulty is just fine

Example: I tried to loop the ghost, a banshee btw, in bleasdale. I was in the kitchen and ran around the middle island twords the little tool room, the ghost was right behind me and I tried to go at an angle to the main door to the kitchen to go to the living room and upstairs but it cut me off at an angle and caught me. Wasn't a rev or jinn.
My point is, looping is already quite difficult and it would make me really not like it if they made the hunts more difficult. What they really need to do is stop someone from being able to close the doors constantly when hiding in a closet and the ghost is trying to kill u.

  3. I don't personally like the one where the ghost needs to hear your voice during the hunt. This objective may be good for difficulty, but I don't think it goes well with the roleplaying aspect of the game. You are a team of ghost finders, and you came to find paranormal activity, so finding evidence using the EMF reader, or taking a photo of the ghost is logical, but luring the ghost closer when it wants to kill you doesn't make sense. If you are an experienced player you don't really care about the roleplay, but that doesn't mean the game should be inconsistent with itself, although that's just my opinion.

  4. I think that ghost speed should be adjusted along side changes to running. There's no reason not to run all the time, but if they make running a limited resource then you could sprint around a corner or out of the ghost room to avoid the ghost, but you'd have to hide because when your sprint is gone you'd be slower and the ghost could catch up to you. The amount of time you can sprint and the time to recover could be adjusted depending on difficulty so amateur levels can run faster than the ghost for longer and recover faster. Think about the UV light differences by difficulty in Devour, for example.

  5. i feel like it would be interesting to add more different ghost types tht actually make you have to change ur strat on how u identify or escape them during a hunt. atm only the revenant changes hw u play during a hunt, like u r more terrified and rush to hide when it's hunting once u know it's a rev. but for every other ghost type they r pretty much treated the same in hw u collect evidence and react when it's hunting. like a ghost tht maybe can take on other ghost behaviour and evidence so it confuses players and u nv know it cld turn into a rev during one of its hunts and tht keeps u on ur toes, or a ghost tht can teleport to u mid hunt while ur hiding and u hav to run or loop it, one tht has no clear ghost room so u gotta run arnd trying everything. thr r probably better ideas but mainly i wld like to see ghost types tht wld force players to change up their strategy while playing.

  6. I feel like the parabolic objective could just be changed to something like "Detect a ghost with the parabolic mic." If they just remove the during a hunt part of the current objective then it would be just like the ones for detecting the ghost with a motion sensor and the detect paranormal activity with an emf reader.

  7. The only idea I hate is having to have a ghost hear your voice during a hunt as an objective. That makes no sense. At a time where you would remain tight lipped you are being asked to reveal yourself. Sure it adds to the danger but your kind of forced into it. Or you can just hide in a closet and talk away while holding the door closed. But the idea is just stupid. Speeding up a ghost during time is a good idea because it's like it's waking up, or gaining energy over time. So that I totally agree with. But if they force us to make noise during a hunt, then leave in the parabolic mic objective so the voice objective has somebody stupid to play with. The voice objective is like them leading us in an investigation. In fact, everything you covered was a good idea except the voice objective.

  8. Personally I would love these changes to be added to Professional ONLY. This would help make Professional more distinct, and it would create extra difficulty for those that want it, and those who don't have the option of the lower difficulties. Thoughts?

  9. How about a new difficulty: Anomaly
    -Ghosts become hyper aggressive
    -No hunt cool down
    -Smudge sticks are halved
-Ghosts except Oni and Rev are the same speed as player, making it harder to loop since you can’t beat looping against an AI
-Ghosts cannot spawn 5 meters near you, if the room is small, then the ghost will spawn 2 seconds after the hunt warning

Another cool idea for the “Anomaly” idea can be:
On larger maps, to keep you on your toes, there are 2 different types of ghosts in the same round.
    -Professional difficulty rules apply
-Each ghost will have slightly different voice in spirit box, and have different color ghost writing
-They would have different color ghost orbs
-Since ghosts are territorial, they cannot be near 40 meters from eachother, since they want to stand their ground
-During a hunt, you cannot tell which ghost can come after you, and both ghosts can come at the same time if not handled correctly

    Just some ideas 🙂

  10. Fake players or players hide in the truck all the time complaining about the game being too easy is pathetic. Grafton, you will have no place to hide. Asylum and school you can just hide in a room and pray the ghost doesn't open it IF they didn't see you since the ghost remembers your last locations. Those comments that praise the update are clearly from players who haven't play the game and pretend they know stuff or pretend they are too brave for the game. Get exposed, lying chicken. You don't even know the ghost hunting mechanism

  11. hunts getting harder meanwhile heres me trying to beat the tutorial…. its hard enough already! just add more maps maybe some friendly ghosts that cant kill you but just mess with you, real life ghosts are not axe weilding murderers they just mess with you.

  12. The thought of the ghost slowly catching you is terrifying. Think of it slowly getting louder as you’re trying to get to your spot and you would be too scared to turn around and look.
