NEW Banshee Ability EXPLAINED | Phasmophobia



The Phasmophobia Christmas Update introduced new Banshee abilities to make it easier to identify on Nightmare. In this video I am going to show you what abilities this ghost has now so you are better prepared for Nightmare mode.

  1. I think an interesting ability for the banshee would be having it randomly check hiding spots like lockers. It says it's a "natural hunter" so it would make sense it would know where to look for hiding people. It would also be scary to think you're safe when you hear the ghost enter the room from a locker only to watch the locker door get yeeted open in front of you. It would work for the banshee I think since it only has one target.

  2. don't like that they removed the early hunt ability from the Banshee, Demons can already hunt at 70% so they don't really need it + like having more that can since not well early hunt so must be demon or whatever

    "…if that target player is out of the house, it will pick another player and STALK that one until the other player gets back into the house."

    –> isn't this a change? didn't the banshee act like a normal ghost and target/kill any player if the original target is outside the house??

  4. I really hope devs would give Banshee something cool when they took away Banshee's early hunt ability, the one and only strong point of her.
    well, the singing is nice but she only has weak points now.

  5. Its kinda sad that the Banshee unique ability is gone, even though it was extremely rare to even happen. But some of my most memorable moments in this game are with Banshees using their special ability. But that sound with the paramic though, that is haunting. Does it only happen with the Banshee? So, new meta for figuring out Banshee playing solo, just use paramic?

  6. With so many people thinking Banshee is boring/not dangerous, maybe they need to rethink he power/theme and instead of making her focus on one person, let her "rampage", I. E. If she kills during a hunt, she immediately starts a new hunt, let her chain it together as far as she can (so it's possible she can kill the whole crew in one hunt event). Then she'd be dangerous, although her power still would affect single players.

I think a way they could maybe improve the Banshee since the ghost lost such a major strength with early hunting…What if instead based on it's singing siren detail, the ability to disable your run or shorten your ability to sprint. Being forced to move slower during a hunt would be such a good buff, especially if it's the targetted player.

  8. I'm not sure that the banshee isn't still able to hunt regardless of sanity. When my friends and I played after the update, the first ghost we got was a banshee. We walked in, turned on the power, got haunted and one of us died. She spawned right ontop of one player. We later got all the clues and it was a banshee without a doubt. We all had candles, it was professional and we made a B- line for the workshop room in Grafton farm house. Btw she was also in that room aswell.

  9. Hey Psycho! after not having played for quite some time I wanted to ask you if you could make a video or comment on my reaction about how not to die?

    I'm not talking about running away and hiding in places, I'm not talking about duking the ghosts because I can do all that.
    My problem is that 1/4 of all matches I play, the ghost will start hunting where I seem to be standing. Causing me to instantly die less than a second after the lights start flickering.
    I thought there was a 5 second phase or a bit less where the ghost couldn't kill anyone, even in professional?

  10. This explains my most horrifying experience with the game yet! We got hunted and I hid in a closet. After the hunt was over and I opened the door, the ghost spawned right on my face singing. For a moment I thought it started a hunt again so I ran back into the closet. Calmed down and realized it wasn't, I opened the closet door and it did it again! Ran through the ghost but it closed the rooms door in front of me and started singing AGAIN in front of me. Scared and in panic I opened the door and ran outside as fast as I could. My friends were wondering why it took me so long to get out while I was catching my breath haha

Something neat that would fit the Banshee description would be if the Banshee did a singing ghost event in a different spot from it's ghost room to lure investigators to the room and the moment their target walked within range of it a hunt would start from that ghost event's location. This would fit the 'like a siren luring its prey' description quite well and many folks will try to grab a ghost photo during an event or use the event to try to help find where the ghost is so it would definitely lure people that way.

    Another thing that could fit the Banshee would be if their vocal sounds during a hunt were louder. Meaning you hear their 'voice' get louder and sound closer before you hear their footsteps AND your equipment glitches out. Though understandably this would be hard since you can usually hear the ghost vocals before the ghost is near you already so maybe adding in some additional voice related effect to the ghost vocals during a hunt could help with that.

    I do wish they let the Banshee keep the early hunt ability. It made them feel much less dangerous when they removed that ability.

  12. kinda wish the banshee actually screamed as they are known for in lore like your walking around tanglewood lets say and at random the banshee will just scream super loud and scare the living shit out of you!
