About getting a cat; Just adopt whatever turns up. I used to want to buy a Scottish fold, but as I was browsing for breeders a wild mother cat left a kitten by a dumpster at my back door. It has been living here ever since.

From someone who has had 10 cats, getting two at once is a lot better. Also, breeders are such scammers. They will charge insane prices, and how can someone put a price on love like that. 7 of my cats were siamese. 2 bengals. Now I own a tabby that I adopted for almost no money and fell in love with. Now he is attached to me like my child. Certain breeds are also known for bad things. Siamese have bad teeth, but are such beautiful cats.
Bombay cats are extremely lovey and will love the cuddles, they are also amazing if you have kids as they are usually non-aggressive and gentle, mine will sneak into my bed to just cuddle with me I can play with her tail and she wouldn't give to flying fs

The game should add feature where ghosts and demons can possess players with low sanity who would then kill a nearby person. that would be more scary and adds a new mechanic to the game
I still don't understand how janky "capture photo of a ghost" is.
It seems like i cant do it during hunt. I either click camera between its blinks or the game refuses to acknowledge a litteral ghost on the photo in plain site.

I wonder why the Devs chose not to go with a push/overwrite system for the photos instead of outright deletion…
Hear me out, so the player can take a photo and if that photo turns out to be less than desirable they can opt to try a similar photo of that same subject again (be it a ghost photo, cursed possession, salt etc.) and once the next photo is taken it can potentially overwrite the previous photo of the similar subject detected, but only if the photo is of a higher quality much like the system they are using now that doesn't allow three stars to be deleted.
This allows for players to still end up having to leave some missions(?) with out a perfect game (which I believe is what the Devs wanted). It gives more experienced players, who feel they got screwed by wonky mechanics, the chance to still go after a perfect game (which is what the player base wanted). At the same time making that perfect game all the more risky as the player now has to stay in that mission that much longer to achieve said perfect game.
Okay so what if I don't want my fingies pic deleted?
-Like suggested the system won't erase three stars. And I believe the games detection is sophisticated enough to know that it shouldn't replace a UV pic in bedroom 1 with a UV pic in dining area.
But I just want to do the 9 salt photos and go.
-Well in that case maybe the overwrite feature can be timer based and as long as you take all your salt photos within that timeframe they all count.

About the cat topic: From my experiance going to a shelter and "let the cat decide" always worked for me/my familiy the best. You might end up with an older, illish cat but you have a special connection that I never experianced with a "photo bought" cat.
For example: 1 1/2 years ago i adopted little emma. She was super shy and has massive allergic reactions to almost every food imaginable BUT seeing her now happy just although I still cant pet her makes me the happiest ever. Yeah she is ill. Yeah she is quite old. Yeah she really really hates attention and for the first month we both lived our own life just in the same space. Yeah I never thought I would need to let a butcher grind up rabbits so she is fed properly. But giving a cat like her a home was the best decision I ever made. And it taught me alot about cat supplies like food. There is so much shit in food no cat needs cause it just doesnt belong in their diet. There are so many "bad" litteroptions cause they are so "dusty" that the cat inhales it and damages her lung with it. Not something that happens right away but a process I never thaught about.
So just to wrap it up. If I would get a cat again either to accompany Emma or later on in my life when Emma isnt around anymore, which god forbid will not happen in at least 10 years: I would always opt for "let the cat decide". You might not end up with the pretty present cat everyone seems to want although most of them are torturebreeds, but you end up with the cat that "belongs" to you.
And just in case: No I didnt adopt a cat like emma to feel better or brag about it and im although not sharing this cause of those reason.

I would like to give a word of warning about adopting from a shelter in the Netherlands. They tend to have rather strict and diverse (sometimes odd) rules. My friend from Utrecht was not allowed to adopt because of some less than logical rules (outdoor cats tend to live shorter, why enforce this unhealthy lifestyle?) and they were quite rude to her. If you and the local shelter don't see eye to eye, look at Marktplaats. There are quite a few cats who are in need of rehoming on this site.
Thank you for your videos Insym. Your (and other peoples) videos have helped me to learn the game. I have been playing for 2 weeks now and I did my first run without getting evidence today (did the parabolic mic objective and got a banshee scream right away, lucky me). I had been playing rounds with only 2 evidence for a couple of days prior to today (trying for perfect games as well), which gave me the confidence to try it with only 1 evidence today, and then I got that banshee scream before I even got any evidence. I might as well play with 0 evidence from now on, and crank up the multiplier because I don't need the sanity to get all the evidence items in the house anyway… see how that goes. Enjoy your new house by the way!
Why not rescue a cat?
I have two cats I rescued. Would never get a cat from breeder/store when there are so many cats in need, suffering. The love you get from them is also incredible and so different compared to a cat from a breeder/store.
The bond you get is amazingly powerful.
Give a poor abandon cat a beautiful home please
