The Phasmophobia Christmas Update introduced new Jinn ability to make it easier to identify on Nightmare. In this video I am going to show you what abilities this ghost has now so you are better prepared for Nightmare mode.

  1. But why did the ghost get you? You smudged and run away. In most cases you could even loop the ghost and never smudge. I also have been having this random ghosts where they would just come to where I am hiding as if they were the one who put me there and kill me.

  2. I only know that when jinn does the sanity drop emf activates without any other interaction nearby at the time (door, item, ghost event etc.), but cannot remember the value of emf that it gives, only that it is a low value (not 4 or 5). Apologies for being vague, happened to me long time ago

  3. There's got to be more to this – I wonder if it's set up so that if the ghost "catches" you, by getting within that 2 meter radius where it slows down, that it then can always find you, and you simply have to hope to outrun it. I'm going to have to look more in to this.

  4. The Path issue thing (or intended) the killed you makes it somehow feels scarier than Raiju (if it saw you lmao).
high potential for multi-kill in one hunt xD

  5. Psycho – have you had a look at the wraiths and whether they might have been updated to be in line with what's in the book? My friend died in a hallway closet, and my other (dead) friend who was watching swears the ghost got her through the bedroom wall. May have been a glitch, but if the wraiths really can see through walls right now, we're all screwed.

  6. It would be nice to see a third-person view of what happens with the ghost during a hunt, especially after a smudge. I would love to be able to tell if it's just so fast that you can't escape, or it just magically knows where you are after LoS. Also, I wonder if you can bait it by forcing it to switch targets?

  7. I actually thought it was 2 meters previously but couldn't find info on the actual distance so I just went with that 😀
I guess I was already mentally prepared for it then but I think this will be about equal in danger to the Raiju however both will be more dangerous than the other depending on situation.

  8. I wouldn't say the Jinn is more dangerous than the Raiju, I'd say it's more dangerous period, but in different ways. I suspect ultimately, the devs' goal it to make ALL of the ghost more or less equally dangerous…but in different ways.

The Rev obviously are the speed threat, the Raiju is the greatest danger to the electronics addict, the Jinn is dangerous when the power's on, the Hantu is dangerous if the temperature is colder, the Yokai is supposed to be the chatterbox (…and streamers') nemesis, the Mare is supposed to be more dangerous in the dark, the Onryo is supposed to be more dangerous to the candle users, etc. etc. Note that for some of the ghosts I mentioned, I said "supposed to" methinks these ghosts need more tweaking to BE actually more dangerous, in each of their own way, when the conditions are right for it. Same holds for most of the rest of the ghost (especially the Spirit).

  9. That same thing happened to me with a Jinn! And ONLY a Jinn. No other ghost. I was hiding with a parabolic mic turned on IN MY POCKET and after smudging it, it wandered and then came RIGHT to my hiding spot. I wonder if Jinns can detect things turned on in your pocket? It's weird. Jinns definitely have something strange unknown going on…
