  1. There's SO much to learn in this game. Here's a few tips based on a few minutes of watching: Turn on lights to keep your sanity from draining too quickly. This is also extremely helpful when you're trying to hide so you're not stumbling in the dark. Once you have identified the ghost room and/or freezing temps, put the thermo down somewhere; you won't need it again unless you think the ghost has changed rooms (which it won't on Amateur). Don't bother with cursed objects until you're comfortable with the basics of finding/IDing the ghost and surviving hunts. Also speaking of surviving hunts, make sure you turn off/drop your flashlight and anything electronic in your hand, and don't talk over the mic (mute yourself if you use open mic). Make it a priority when you enter a map to find a decent hiding spot and be ready to run there when a hunt starts. Keep the house lights on between you and the hiding spot.

Edit: just heard you tell your friend to shut off their flashlight during a hunt. Good instinct.

  2. I would suggest you play smaller maps till you learn the game's rules a bit. The first time you enter the house, I would suggest looking for empty hiding spots and keep them in mind when it hunts. It's also really important to differ ghost events from hunts. Usually, before ghost events happen, either a door gets touched or a light switches. However, there are 2 big differences in spotting if it's one of them or not. The first one is that in ghost events, the ghost starts moving immediately (OR stands in it place), rather than when in hunts where it stays in its place for a second or so before moving. The other big one is, when the ghost hunts it plays a mp3 track, like (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BukA7SJhkbw) these. One of these tracks are picked when you start the map, and the ghost will make the same noises when hunting every time. So you can differ if it's a ghost event or not by the sounds it makes, just got to hear its hunt noises first. For example, when hunting it whispers, however in ghost events the ghost cries.

  3. Also another one, just off the top of my head, when the ghost starts hunting you really cant interact with light switches so its an easy way to tell if the ghost is still hunting or not. Also when the ghost stops hunting all of the lights close in the house. So If you know where you will hide beforehand, you can turn the light in there before the hunt to make it eaiser for yourself later on.
