  1. There is no competition in sword fighting games on psvr2. You could release 10 of them and they would all sell well if they have "realism"… Swordsmen is GREAT combat but u cant "explore castles" and "ride horses" so it sorta feels flat. But if a swords game comes out with the 3 things and has swordsman style "GREAT combat" then it can take off. But they always leave out one of the 3 important magic receipe ingrediants that witcher, skyrim, & elden ring have. You need "all three" or the game flounders in VR.
    Devs take note…
    ..The 3 things
    1, Great "swordsman" combat
    2, castle exploration
    3, horseback riding
(or behemoth climbing sorta counts as mounts lol)
Games need those three or u flounder, flat or VR. 🙂
    🎉 Happy VR'ing! 🎉
Thats why legendary tales failed to explode in sales, that and that dorky goblin in the first level, drawn by a ten year old. 😂

  2. To be fair, there’s a lot that can explain the difference in sales between Max Mustard and Galaxy Karts. They’re completely different genres and Karts is mostly multiplayer, so that already speaks of different target audiences. But, judging by the trailers (haven’t had time to try either myself) there’s an obvious difference is production values: Karts looks like an indie game, and Max looks like it could have come directly from the Astrobot team!

  3. Phas is an incredible experience; I think second only to Alyx as my favourite VR game, but launching without proximity voice chat is just terrible. That is the magic of that game; you have to split up and that separation is the whole anxiety of the experience. I don't fault the team, apparently this is a first party issue, but it's very disappointing.

As for the PlayStation "doesn't care" thing; it's tough, PlayStation sells promotion as part of being a platform holder. That's kind of the whole point of having a platform actually, you provide a service for goods then you collect your cut, and selling to that audience is part of that. And you can say "it's also their responsibility to provide a healthy platform though, and pushing key titles helps that", and that's also true, but if people are getting promos for free, how are other devs going to feel about paying?

That's been PlayStation's greatest misstep VR wise this gen. Adding VR isn't going to make you money as a publisher, it will lose you money, which is fine if Sony is happy to comp you, but even if you were willing to take the gamble yourself, you're certainly not going to if you know Sony is happy to pay other publishers to add VR.

  4. To the devs of Max Mustard.. I want you to know, the only reason I haven't bought your game yet is I'm holding out for a retail release. I know I'm gonna love it. Glad they're doing well on PSVR2.

Really hope phasmaphobia gets the voice control stuff. Waltz of the Wizards use of voice recognition is legit top 5 VRAF things I've ever done. So cool.

  5. It wasn’t me who murdered FriendAtCourt. I was just the witness. 🤣

Thanks again PSVR2 Without Parole! Excited for all these future games. Aces of Thunder is my most anticipated but so many others that I’m super hyped for.
