Phasmophobia Guide – GHOST TARGETING Explained in 60 seconds

All you need to know about ghost targeting mechanics in Phasmophobia in 60 seconds.

UPDATE: the banshee does not switch targets when u leave the house (at least not anymore) since it was in the code it may be broken. This may be in again at some point.

  2. I like the idea that we are pretending that my death at the end of the video was totally intentional and planned and NOT because i was laughing at the ghost and didn't notice it come back out of the gym so quickly hahahaha

  3. Isnt the revenant also an exception to this, like it targets whoever is closer to it so if player A is close it would go for it but if Player B gets closer then it will switch to B. I heard that juggling the Revenant between players is a strat you can do because of this

  4. The behaviour of the ghosts is very cool, and easy enough once you know it! So cool! 👍😊
I think that perhaps a more random targeting factor would be awesome if they could implement it!

  5. If the Banshee picks a new target due to the player leaving the house, it obviously picks someone else. But when the originally-targeted player comes back into the house, are they once again the the prey?

  6. So to clarify for the Banshee – Is everyone who AREN'T the selected target safe during hunts? As in, the target could hide in a closet and the remaining players can roam freely?

  7. Does anybody know if the ouija board can force a player to be a target/force a hunt? I was in a Tanglewood game awhile ago where two players were in the basement playing with the ouija board, failing enough questions to drop both of their sanity to 0. A hunt starts. The ghost spawns by the front door (even though its favorite room was the garage), walks right through me in the living room, beelines directly for the basement, and kills one of the players that was using the board. It ended up being a demon, so our average sanity was in its in hunt range even though it was pretty early in the run. I can't find anything about this behavior on the wiki. Anybody know what's up?

  8. I love your videos but can you explain something? Because it has happened a lot to me and my brother and sister. Ghost is NOT a wraith, we are NOT in sight of the door anyway, we are NOT anywhere near a wall so we can't stick out. We are in a closed room and we have broken line of sight way before we entered the room (so we can't say it saw me going into that room)
    How can it find us?
It happened on all maps, but the ghost would start hunting, I would run upstairs, enter a room, close the door, go to the side so that if it's a wraith they can't see me through the door, I hear the ghost going back and forth, then like 30 seconds into the hunt, I start hearing its belching, its heartbeat, and I'm dead.
    HOW???

  9. Thank you SO MUCH for this! I left a comment on another video asking about this without knowing this video existed. 😅 I had a round a few weeks ago where the banshee recalibrated its target, and it confused me so much.

First hunt – Went after friend
Second hunt – Went after me (friend was outside)
Third hunt – Went after me

We ended up going with Wraith (even though my friend assumed it was a Banshee, but he's a good friend who didn't want to leave me hanging), but yeah… We were wrong. Thanks for adding that "UPDATE" to the description as well. It's good to know that might not be the case anymore.

  10. the last one is definitively a bug because my sister sacrificed herself during a haunt to save the friend who bought all the equipment

it was in the school, in a grand corridor and no loss of LoS
and the ghost was a jinn (sorry idk how to write it)

  11. 4 is really weird, it has to be buggy. They used to re-target players and I had teammates sacrifice themselves for me; I have also done it to prevent someone from dying. But I don't know when it changed — in a group, I /think/ they choose the target with the lowest sanity if available.
In my experience, Banshees have never switched targets when leaving the house. It may have been an intended feature that got scrapped in the code, but I don't really know.
