Phasmophobia is a Logic Game

I generally don’t enjoy horror games, but I find that Phasmophobia’s implementation of behaviors and abilities produces an enjoyable experience when on game modes that limit you to 0-2 pieces of evidence.
The fun comes not from just overcoming limitations, but from being able to piece together a decision tree and correctly deduce based on the inputs/outputs the ghost gives you.

  1. Another Logic Game is Demonologist.
It is called a Phasmo-like for a similar gameplay style, with the three pieces of evidence and ghost behavior deduction.

    What made the game different?
    – That game is tailored to the horror aspect of the genre.
    – Jump scares and interactive Words are found in the lobby and on maps.
    – The crucifixes are a proactive way to stop a hunt.
    – The dead players are a secondhand way of finding evidence and items. (Very handy for distractions in a hunt. Because the dead can call the ghost towards them)
    – The players can dress their hunters in the character customization menu.

  2. Nice video! Could use a spreadsheet that will sort of “order” the ghosts in terms of what’s going to be best to test for first. There’s some good sites I use, but I think in nightmare mode you could have a simple checklist that simply says “check for orbs”. Though this takes some of the “thinking” out of the game, it still means you’re going to have to be around longer to find what’s necessary.
Also a thing not mentioned (though maybe implied) is that often there’s a lot you can detect from when a ghost hunts. I’ve seen some YouTubers, level 20k, know more than half the time what ghost it is from a single hunt.

  3. the mimic is the easiest ghost in the game cause it will ALWAYS give you one more evidence – which is ghost orbs.
Even with zero evidence it will still give you ghost orbs. Idk why you'd say its a pain?

  4. Amazing video! It really is rewarding when you start to see yourself getting better at the puzzle aspect of the game! 😊 Even after 1000 hours the jumpscares still get me 😂

  5. I don't know who you are, youtube recommended this video. I would have been interested if it weren't for the overpowering, annoying music that drowns out you're talking so to me I was effectively watching the screen and hearing the music and I was not able to focus on what you are saying👍 bit of constructive critism. I came to the comments hoping this was already posted but everyone is just gaslighting you bro.

  6. It's a bit similar to FNAF in a way, insofar as to say they are horror-themed games that to a first time player are scary, but eventually boil down to strategy/logic games

  7. Well correction for you on the evidence. At least for playing with all evidence given. Some share close to the same evidence with The Mimic and specifically in the case of Hantu it is precisely the same except The Mimic also has Spirit Box. So if you collect the evidence that points to Hantu and don't test the Spirit Box you very well could be rope a doped into the wrong ghost.

Nice explosion to end the video. 🙂

  8. Shy Onryo is a very common thing unfortunately, from my observation on Insanity early hunting ghosts are somewhat consistant, on Nightmare up to 3 minutes even Demons may decide not to hunt. Probably a bug leftover from Amateur/Intermediate setup period.

  9. Phasmo is absolutely a logic puzzle game with a little flair added, that's what makes it fun.

However, Nightmare is 2 evidence – Insanity is 1 evidence & no cursed possession
