The big update is finally here! In this video I’ll be covering the Patch notes for the latest Beta update released on 24/04/2021.
This includes ghost speed changes during hunts, tweaks to hiding, and much more. Hopefully this patch will bring some much needed difficulty to Phasmophobia.

  1. Love the ghost not moving, it's so frustrating when you're in a bad room and when the lights start flickering and you try running to a different room but the ghost is running with you and instantly grabs you.

  2. Tested it with friends on high school. They really don't go much faster at all. It takes absolutely forevor for them to ramp up. It's still basically impossible to get caught. Extremely unfortunate.

  3. Don't know if this is the same thing but LIV from what I know is the app that lets VR users set up virtual camera angles to be used as overlayed gameplay in capture programs. My guess is now you can do a third person camera in LIV and players will show up in it. That would be cool for Mixed Reality players in Phasmo.

  4. I completely agree with you about point number 1. I don't quite get the idea behind it and, theoretically, it makes the start of a hunt less organic and more mechanic, if that makes sense…

  5. DK has already made some slight changes!
    1. Slightly increased the maximum speed the ghost can get to when chasing you during a hunt.

    2. When vsync is turned off the fps will now be limited to 140.

    3. The amount of time the ghost stands still at the start of the hunt has been reduced from 8 to 5 seconds.

The last change feels much better after playing a lot tonight and alleviates some of my initial concerns about the ghosts no longer moving at the start. Originally I found I still had time to outrun them even with the speed changes if I ran early as the ghost couldn't move for 8 seconds.

  6. I think you got confused about the first change. It's about being confused when the grace period ends, not whether or not it will be hunting. Too many times I've smudged too early because it was the grace period but still chasing me, so I wouldn't get the achievement

  7. I'm not saying I agree with the devs, but I think the first point in the Ghost Changes section is supposed to be reducing confusion on when the starting phase ends and the ghost can actually lock on to you.

  8. So regarding point one of the ghost changes, the main issue people were running into was having 0 chance of escape if the ghost appeared on top of them. So if it's moving with them, the moment the ghost gets out of the no attack phase, then the player is killed.

  9. The tanglewood exploit was if you were in one of the lockers in the back you could look straight up and of course do to how you stand looking up your head would clip through and end up outside the house, much like when looking straight down your head pokes through the locker, it acts as the ghost LOS tracking and how it would open lockers if you looked up your head goes outside as previously mentioned and the ghost would never find you

  10. i THINK the 1st point in changes means when the hunt ACTUALLY starts. before, it couldnt kill you for the first 3 seconds or something and you couldnt hear footsteps, so you could see it walking but you werent sure if it was in its next phase, and was able to kill you yet. i probably didnt do a very good explanation, so heres a better one: the first phase to the hunt is where it just walks around, and it cant kill you. now, during that phase, it just stands still until the next phase, where it can kill you. personally, i like that change. i dont want the ghost to follow me and try to kill me if it literally cant kill me during that first phase. nuzzgard, if you understand phases you probably will understand it too now. i like that change

  11. Jinn's are impossible to decifer through hunting behaviors now. 🙁
I got stuck between a poltergeist and a jinn on Asylum, as the poltergeist was not leaving fingerprints anywhere (fingerprints are bugged on Asylum again) and the only way we could definitively determine the difference was through hunting behavior. The ghost caught up waaay too quickly (I was rounding as many corners as I could, breaking line of sight with doors) and I thought it was a jinn 🙁
The ghosts are TOO fast now is what I'm saying

  12. I love most of these changes. My only real gripe now is that it's still possible to stop hunts completely with sanity pills, so you really are only hunted if you want to be hunted.

  13. I'm pleased that they've fixed the garage in Tanglewood – there used to be an exploit involving the lockers where you could clip out of the building or onto the roof.

  14. I feel like you do not understand how many people die to the weird delay with the ghost hunt. The fact that it appears, starts moving and then randomly starts hunting a few seconds later can often lead to someone trying to sneak by the ghost or escape before it starts hunting only to have it start hunting and get them. It has happened to me many times so I understand the update.
