Phasmophobia: Mic Fix

If you’re having trouble getting your mic to work in game, this video should help! Phasmophobia is in early development so I suspect they’ll fix this issue at some point. But either way, this will hopefully help those of you who want to use your in game mic but not give up your other voice chat options. Let me know if this worked for you!

Big thanks to Alan Fullmer Music for letting me use his music in my videos. If you’re not already a fan, check out his YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/AlanFullmerMusic (and yes, that’s him singing in the opening clip!)

  2. If you're still having the mic issue in the game then DONT run the game as administrator. That may fix the problem – Every method I'd tried didn't work however when I didn't ran the game as administrator, it worked! (This is useful for those who downloaded the crack version which is not preferable)

  4. So far I don't know if my voice is the problem or something
Most of my problems occur with the spirit box
There seems to be phrase recognition as activity levels do rise when I say give us a sign or show yourself
But the spirit box never seems to work, after about 20 spirit box ghosts I get an answer from 1 of them on average. When I asked in a discord server they said that if it doesn't display "nothing detected" after a question it didn't recognize your voice, but at this point I'm pretty unsure. And my brother managed to get like 15 answers from the same ghost on the exact same setup on the same computer as me
At this point all of my friends just make fun of me for my deep voice and say that's the reason lol

  5. PER THE DEVELOPER:

    Quote:

Important: Voice recognition is only supported on Windows 10 as stated in the minimum specs

Here are some steps you can take to fix the voice recognition. This will get updated as more info is found.

    1. Make sure your input device on windows is the microphone you want to use.

    2. Go into "Speech Settings" on windows and download and install the English US language package. This will install the necessary voice recognition drivers.

    3. In "Speech Settings" at the top check the box "Recognise non-native accents for this language".

    4. Select your language as your voice language.

    5. Under language settings click on your language, go to options and then download the speech package.

    6. Go into "Online Speech Recognition" on windows and make sure that is turned on.

    7. Go into "Microphone privacy settings" and make sure Phasmophobia has permission to use your microphone.

    8. Go to "Cortana Language Settings" and apply your language at the bottom.

    9. Update your windows 10. Go to "Check for updates" and make sure you are on version 2004.

    10. Do not run Steam as Admin. For some reason this is breaking the voice recognition.

    11. Head into the "other" page in options on the main menu and set your voice language there.

    12. Go to the audio options in the main menu and use the voice recognition test to check if it is working.

    13. If it still isn't working some people have got it working by moving the game onto their main hard drive.

    14. Make sure no other application on your computer is taking control of your microphone before playing.

    15. If it still doesn't work at this point try using the English UK voice pack instead.
