In this video I’ll be discussing player progression in Phasmophobia, some ideas, and how this could be tied to level or money unlocks. Would you like to see more things to work towards? Let us know any of your unlock ideas in the comments!

1. They should make the Ouija Spawn every time but at completely random locations . Not the usual locations like closets but like anywhere in the house .
2. The ghost should stop flickering so much during the hunt because of the new repel with smudge sticks objective . It's very hard to track the ghost .
3. Friend system In-game . None of my friends play this game hence I am always in public lobbies . Some strangers are really good at the game and nice in general . I would like to play with them again and again . It is really tiresome to get them to give you their steam/discord ID over radio .
4. More ghost activity on asylum which brings parabolic mic into the picture .
The truck itself seems massively expensive and useful. You have the screens, you can haul a massive amount of gear, and its interior feels comfortable and safe. Imagine if you had to work to get it, and started out with a hatchback with no screens and only room for the starter items? Perhaps you would work your way to a van a la the Mystery Machine, or a station wagon like the one the Ghostbusters drive, or the moving van that we know and love. None the less, I would welcome a vehicle with more personality.
I don't even know if it's possible but… I would add bonus objectives which doesn't require direct interaction with the ghost like collecting information about it (how he died etc.). This could prevent not just focusing on the ghost room after finding it.
How cool is it to see you sitting at the reception in asylum haha
I think if you level up over a certain point. You should be able to carry more items.
RV and home base customization. You know how it looks kinda plain and even a little run down? What if players could spend money to buy new paint, new furniture, etc. Just a thought
what if there were certain maps you can buy? instead of having free maps, there can be maps you buy or maybe they're harder than the normal ones?
I think holy water could be an interesting item. Crucifixes and smudge sticks already work on ghosts so I don't think it'd be too much of a stretch to say splashing holy water on a hunting ghost could repel it. Make it a high risk high reward kind of deal where it could end a hunt early but you have to get close enough to use it that you could risk getting grabbed if you're too slow.
Idea: money to customize characters with tshirts and stuff
Garage upgrades! Air Hockey Table! LEDs! Ping Pong! Arcade! Furniture! Interactable chalk board! Audio Logs! Unlocks! GHOST TROPHIES! LOOOOOORE! Bear slippers! Strobe lights! Disco Balls! Actually be able to use the spray paint cans! Toy rockets! Drones! Costumes! Bigger Pockets to carry more things!….uhhhh…..a one-time use bell that interrupts an ongoing hunt?
As a real ghost hunter I'm excited about new equipment…will be more like the real thing!
For equipment I'm thinking a kind of lamp like a flood lamp that is meant to be carried around like the tripod and placed on the ground, this item could be expensive and could be drained or turned off by the ghosts.
A more expensive video camera that lets you turn its view or zoom from the van. Or a motion sensing video camera that automatically changes to its display in the van when it senses something, this would require players to turn off manually if they want to stop it. A more expensive photo camera with more photos. A backpack which lets you carry an extra item.
Upgrading the lobby hub should totally be in the game, slowly getting out of the paint garage and moving into a mansion would be neat. Maybe some character tie in skins? like the Winchesters from Supernatural, X-files or other ghost/monster t.v shows? that could pair well with a leveling system. If individual pieces of clothing are too annoying to program/model they could make alt outfits for the existing characters as well tied to levels or money? Or just hats to be honest.
(I don't know if this has been said yet, but they need to add at least 2 more screens to the van to watch multiple cameras. Having one screen have to spam alternate between 15+ cameras is quite troublesome, having one for preset cams, one for placed ones and one for head cams would be nice.)
I used to play a lot of custom maps in Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2. In starcraft 2 there was a custom map called "Mafia" this custom map was eventually develpped into a game called town of salem. Anway, at the end of a game in Mafia if you won you'd gain a large amount of points and if you lost, a little. These points were used to purchase new skins and death animations (which the game town of salem decided to make purchasable with real money…) I think the money we earn should be used to purchase new player models, special designs for equipment or van cosmetics etc. Maybe even new death animations. But no virtual currency plesae, it would be totally ruined by purchasing "ghost bucks".
the problem with cosmetics and such is that they still only delay the problem as there also finite and once bought you end up at the same problem again.
i would suggest maby some items you need to rebuy after each mission like salt pills etc as doesn't make sense once used that there just there again for next mission
maby the flash light needs batteries you need to buy and and has a power system that drains slowly and maby some ghost even can make it drain faster like the jinn.
that way the game will also a bit more resource management game type and you have to plan your items more carefully instead of willy nilly taking everything with you
The only thing I save up for is to replenish my stuff if I die.
Also it would be cool if they added a thing where you could make a save of the stuff you normally bring so you don't have to click every single item, but just one button that adds your "kit".
We could buy maps
behind a level requirement
1: truck upgrades… like more computer monitors… so you can view multiple feeds at the same time 2-3 extra monitors (up to 4)
2: Phase 2…. after level 30. or..50 or something.. if you successfully determine the ghost type when the level is over… the game tiggers the exspell phase.. where you need to rid the property of the ghost with a completely different set of tools that you would need to but… maybe you need to buy a license to be able to perform this phase. double or nothing option.. if you take this job.. u can double or triple your money but at a risk to lose it all
Our ideas? Sure:
1. Make hunts more difficult (already coming iirc)
2. Make the ghost wander way more often to make it more difficult to find the ghost room without equipment.
3. Reduce the volume of ghost footsteps. (Currently finding the ghost room without any equipment is way too easy. Tracking the ghost during hunts is way too easy as well due to the obnoxiously loud footsteps.)
4. Make the ghost more unpredictable by letting the ghost hunt regardless of your sanity. (Obviously the chance to hunt should increase with your lack of sanity, but it's kind of bs that you can just chug some pills to make the ghost never hunt???)
5. Please remove the outside door locking sound when a hunt begins, or at least make it way less audible because at the moment even when we're doing our 'little to no equipment' runs (we're only allowed to use the GW book, smudges, salt and we're not allowed to turn on the lights in the building), you instantly know that a hunt has begun because of the extremely loud door locking sound.
6. Weren't wraiths supposed to be able to go through walls and fly? I think we need some sort of a new mechanic for the Wraith.
7. Lastly, we really need some new maps. I know it takes a long time to create a good looking map but we really need some new ones.
TL;DR:
Make the game more difficult and give us some new maps to play in.
Maps they should add: hospital, graveyard, mansion, hotel or motel, and apartment
I think it would be cool if they integrated the challenges that people do on their own, like starter item only, no flashlight and stuff like that.
Well, once you hit lv 600+ everyone stops adding you into the party, due to thinking your a hacker
At this point they need to add more maps and new spirits already
At the moment, the spirit box functions like how an ovulus would function IRL.
I think that there should be consumable items. Items that disappear after use and you do not get back for the next map. This allows for some kind of money sink in the game. Since consumables are one offs, I feel this would allow for some of the current items, to be buffed and thrown into consumables. Maybe expand the range on crucifixes, or have glowsticks be better sources of UV lights, but be consumable items, for examples.
I would love to have something very simple that would effect this problem without changing to much for casual players but give something to do for more frequent players…
Iron man mode!
So you make a new start in a separate mode with no levels and no money again and you work your way up as usual but if you die you lose it all. Then your level achieved goes onto leaderboards for you to compete against friends and globally.
I think this would really change the game because it would take that tense spooky atmosphere and really turn up the tension as you know the closer it gets to a hunt or when it acutally triggers, you have so much to lose as you desperately try to hide from the ghost.
This would effect so many things for me as in give me something to work on and achieve, increased tension and fear and also more difficulty due to me having to manage my money and items again each time i restart my playthrough.
Let me know what everyone else thinks!
I think, we could start with crappy equipment, (low action thermometer, short range detector) and then you unlock some "sponsor" by reaching a certain level, to buy more efficient stuff and unlocking more difficult mission maps and more agressive ghost IA
I think maybe it would be cool if when u use a item like photo cam or pills… We would have to get more money to buy things… Or maybe u would have to bring items back to the truck, so if u forget something u lose it))
how are u not bored of this game yet xD
I hope if they do change this leveling system, that they do it in a way where since every level is 100 XP, say you’re level 450, they can scale the new level you’ll earn based on overall XP you’ve earned, which should be easy to calculate. What I hope they don’t do is completely reset your level.
Just a suggestion but I think it would be cool if you could play with bigger teams in game. Especially for bigger maps. Speaking of teams I would definitely enjoy If you played with a team more often!
I have a slew of ideas that i think as someone whos been playing phasmabobia ever since it came out. Will be perfect
Weathers and times of day.
Adjustment of darkness(e.g. normal. More. Oppressive. Deep. And Pitch.)
More maps. Maybe ghost can sometimes posses objects or throw weapons during a high tension ghost event.
More models and ghost types. Maybe even variations of types of ghost
A camera/recorder. Like you would have to catch a ghost speaking or something and record it.
Crystal ball and other physic stuff.
Crystal ball maybe to see where things like bones and the ghost room is(but its hard to get to work or use. Or maybe its tied to how experienced you are with the ball) or a sketch book where someone if staring in the direction of the ghost or something can speed sketch it(its done i guess by holding a button. Or if in vr. Scrambling like a nutjob)
Character stuff. Maybe customizable characters(e.g. skin color. Height. Gender. Outfits. Age. Ect)
Maybe even with levels you get points to put stuff in(e.g. speed. Psychic. Hearing. Ect)
Maybe one can buy houses and so with enough money. And random stuff like being able to eat pizza or some crap
Just my thoughts. Not fully developed. But yee
Feel free to add ideas or so.
They should also add an offline mode
Either with computers with teammates or by yourself
I don't think cosmetics is a road you want to go down.
