  1. I find the old heartbeat and the ghost croak while hunting or showing itself was MUCH scarier than current sound effects. That being said, I love the current ones. I feel like itd be great to have some of that old audio back and mixed in with the new stuff on a randomized basis

  2. It's a Backrooms map! I figured it out! The old Asylum was an experience that Sunny Meadows can never hope to replicate, because the old Asylum had so many similar rooms and seemed so endless that if you got turned around even for a split second you'd be hopelessly lost in a huge building knowing that a murderous ghost could be around any corner. It's like playing the Backrooms, but with Phasmophobia gameplay thrown in! That's why I miss it. If they ever give us a map that can replicate that experience, maybe I'll stop missing the old Asylum.

  3. i hope they add this map back to phasmo, i love the empty halls and liminal space feelings. imagine doing this on nightmare or custom difficulties?!?! that would be awesome. devs if u see this, please bring this map back, we miss it. bring it back the exact same way it is here in this video.

  4. I LOVED this map… ran it as my farm and could navigate without light. I really wish they could bring it back.

If anything, the only changes would be to either move the stairs to the lobby side and / or add stairwells to the end of the halls. I even had a way to do different difficulties by selectively blocking halls.

  5. Hey Insym I have a request to ask of you! I loved the vids you made about the game Killer Frequency and I would like you to play it again but this time trying to save Murphy, Virginia and Tammy because, why not! The game was fun and you seemed to enjoy it therefore, for you getting other endings would be ideal and lastly, it would be nice to save them all!

Love you a lot man! You are my favorite YouTuber!

  6. Workshop would be interesting but it'll prob never happen for maybe Legal reasons? or something else. Asylum (Old) wasn't bad but iirc quite buggy wouldn't surprised me if they remake Prison or High School

  7. Hey Insym! I really am enjoying nostalgia month and would like to recommend the game “locked up” this one was an earlier horror game that you played and had a profound impact on me. Have a good weekend!

  8. I really miss this map.

Having a very weak PC, this was the only big map that ran like butter for me, so I ended up playing it a lot of the time, doing solo runs and just exploring it in general. Its emptiness felt so eerie, so uncanny, so terrifying to me, and that is something that Sunny Meadows unfortunately doesn't make me feel, (not to mention how poorly it runs on my PC, but that's not an issue with the map, but with my PC).

Sunny Meadows is a very amazing map, for sure, but it gives me a very different type of horror, and the eerie emptiness from the old Asylum sure isn't there anymore.

I wish it was added back as a legacy map, so players would know that it is not up to date with the current game's mechanics (since that's what everyone says when saying why it was removed).

I hope this video brings some spark to the old Asylum, and maybe causes it to be back into the game! If you don't like it, no worries, just don't play it, simple. But it's good to have it there for those who do.

All that being said, thank you for this video, Insym! Thanks for the opportunity of visiting this map once again. I miss it a lot, and there's kind of a long story as to why it means so much to me.

  9. i think they removed old asylum because like you said it is very unsettling (this is probably because its the first or second map) this is probably because they where shooting for a creepy and unsettling map and they got that and instead of changing it greatly so its not that (witch they still did with new asylum) but is was so unsettling and scary that they removed it sadly (then again this is just my brain running and thinking about why)

  10. Listening to the old Spirit box makes me miss it. The new one doesn’t work at all like it does in real life where the old one was actually pretty similar. New spirit box kinda acts more like an EVP than a spirit box. I think they should add EVP as evidence if they ever add anymore ghosts. That way they can make the spirit box more realistic without scrapping the work they did for the new one.

  11. Oh Insym saying if Phasmophobia had Steam Workshop support damn that would be so cool
    – Custom maps
    – or Even ghost hunter skins (prolly Phasmo devs can make them)

  12. The reason people would get lost on this map is because no one was going to memorize where each room was, so if you were talking with friends, or suddenly got spooked by the ghost or something like that while inside a room, when you walked out, you might not remember exactly which way you came from, and with the room you were just in being 1 of many seemingly identical rooms, you could be anywhere. You could walk in one direction and hope that it's the direction of the exit, or you might be going deeper into the Asylum. If you second guess your choice and turn around, you might just be making your walk even longer.

  13. Whenever there's an old phasmo video you can always bet that there are multiple comments in the twitch chat like: "This was the best version of phasmo"
I want whatever they're smoking tbh, because that level of delusion seems fun.

  14. Evidence still needs a work tbh. A photo shouldn't give you prints. You should at least have to have the UV equipped like the flashlight for it to show up and take a photo tbh

  15. I bought phasmo yesterday. met some cool poeple I played 3 games with. Second game we had monkey paw. One of them told me to go to basement which was the ghost room. The he used monkey paw twice, first he said “I wish to trap the ghost” then he said “I wish to leave” he trapped me in basement with the ghost. it was not fun.

  16. Yurei used to have the Phantom ability of draining sanity when you looked at it during ghost events, and Shade used to be able to do any number of EMF 2 interactions even when there were players around, but they keep nerfing the Shade. Poltergeist now also drains sanity when using its multi-throw ability.

  17. I think it would be cool if ghosts interacted more with the environment, especially in large maps: writing on chalkboards, bloody writing on mirrors/paintings/walls.
Subtle lasting interactions to help find where the ghost has been active when there's no items to yeet and you were too far away to hear that door touch or phone ring.
