The Hantu is one of the ghosts that has received some changes with the Cursed Possessions update. They are now much faster during colder temperatures, so keeping the breaker on to slow down the Hantu will be more crucial than ever.

  1. I saw a post someone else made comparing the ghost speeds. Cold Zone Hantu is comparable to a Raiju which is still slightly faster, and the Revenant is still the fastest ghost. They made the observation that the Hantu on the snowing version of the Camp is bugged and moving slower than on every other map, though.

  2. This must have been asked before, but I’d still like to get your opinion. What if there was a different game mode where you play as the ghost with the main objective to kill the ghost detectives (or at least prevent them from completing all objectives)? It would be random what type of ghost you are as well as random what special characteristic you have (e.g. wandering, more active with full party/less people, etc.). You can build up more power (which would allow you to start a hunt) by interacting and triggering ghost events. The caution to that is every action you make may help the ghost detectives with completing their objectives.

Of course with certain ghost types you have to wait till their sanity is low enough before you can start hunting. Interacting with them nearby can help with that but at the risk of helping them complete their objectives. Once they’ve lost enough sanity, and once you (the ghost) have accrued enough power, you can trigger a hunt. The more power you’ve accrued, the sooner and or longer you can hunt.

One more bonus idea, a ghost detective with low sanity will help slowly feed your power to start hunting again. Also, you can use ghost power to temporarily delay certain evidence from being revealed, but doing so forfeits the chance to hunt.
