Hello! In this video I’ll be going over the latest patch notes for the latest Beta branch update for Phasmophobia. This includes bug fixes, in addition to some changes & new additions!

Thought I was the only one disliking the new crucifix I found it just so much more thrilling not to know whether you had already prevented a hunt or not… And then suddenly both crucifixes were gone and nobody was quite sure where they had been placed exactly and if you just didn't find them anymore or they were truly gone
Aand that's how i start middle/big maps. A flashlight, a candle and a lighter. Always found the beast. Good objective. The para…what? Who the heck is even using that anymore, I mean, alone may be okeish but in co op, nah. Useless objective.
Honestly, the game feels just too predictable at this point. Personally I would like it if you could die in other ways instead of just hunts, I don’t like how I can walk in with full sanity and feel invincible. Also I think it needs more ‘in your face” jump scares upon death instead of just the arms.
I just went and saw what the crucifix looks like when the first charge is used. Half of it is missing, as if parts of it were snapped off by force. Even if it does tell you one charge is used, it's creepy as hell to look at. Yeah it makes things a bit easier but it makes it a lot more unsettling for me, which to me is what I think this game should be about. The scares and horrors, rather than just winning.
Can ghosts still walk through doors/walls? Where do u have hide from them now? Closets? Bathrooms? Lockers? Can the ghost run up to you like really faster or is that the revenants ability? Can the ghost attack you when your hiding in any room? Can you hide in the same room with other players?
Idea for crucifix: Reduce it to only 1 use, but increase how many you can bring on a hunt; maybe 4 or even just 3 would be a good idea. That way it would be less down to RNG on the larger maps since you could cover more space, and you could tell when they've been used since they only have 1 use. This would also make the objective to prevent a hunt way less tedious on prison, high school, etc.
its weird you like the no death objective so much, that one in my opinion seems like the worst. You are kinda expected to not die anyways in this game, this objective you are relying on your teammates to not die as well
The candle objective sounds great! Forces you to interact and get close to the ghost which ups the fear factor imo. Any objective which "puts you in danger" with the ghost is one which I think could make the game more challenging and enjoyable. Thanks for the vid, Nuzz
The candle bug is quite bothersome for me and my friends. I hope the bug fix does fix it. Though it only said when the lit candle is being held. I hope it still works when it's placed.
1:16 Here is my opinion on this. So, I don't think Crucifix should be nerfed. I think it is good at 2 because most of the time, the ghost always seem to find away to avoid crucifix. I have put it in every spot, but ghost seem to be avoiding it at all cost. I had Hunt stopped like twice but yeah.
100% agree with you on the objectives, I really don't want to be forced to take a parabolic mic during a hunt, I feel like it can be a nice objective if you scratch the hunt part of that objective.
My opinions, having played so far. – The crucifix is.. MEH. If it had to be enabled, it should make a sound that scares the living daylights out of you. Fear factor, makes the game interesting. – One of the objectives is to repel the ghost during a hunt, but I have had a rather annoying bug MANY times where I do not see said ghost during a hunt with that objective. Died once solo because of it, died another multiplayer right beside my friend, and neither of us saw it. So long as that bug is in the game? NOPE. Not happening. Also, if it's a rev after that bug is fixed, I'm not going to risk it unless I am near a locker or closet with the ghost room already. – The parabolic one is a hard no for me. Even if I get it? Not happening. – The ghost blowing it out.. is also meh? It seems really hard to tell when you've done it right now. I've had a case where i lit the candle and the ghost immediately blew it out as it showed itself. I've had a case where I lit the candle and it burned out immediately (but no ghost show), but did not actually count for the objective. – Average of 25%? I mean, it forces van cowards in. Yay! More gameplay! Boo! it's forcing people to play even if they're only there to help someone test OBS settings! (my poor friend. trying to eat his dinner while i rushed my testing along.) – Escape the hunting with no deaths… I.. don't see that as being fun, really. I don't think it's necessary. I really don't. So many players play it safe during hunts. So why force this? It's also another bugged objective, i've seen so many reports of that in the bug report channel…
Forward rendering really should have already been the default for VR; it's faster than the deferred and in VR render speed is everything! I'm amazed they weren't using it already, but that explains a few things!
I like the idea of the Crucifix visual change, but I feel it could be done a lot better.. Like have it so that when it prevents a hunt the sides don't fall off immediately, instead they'll only fall off if the ghost or player interacts with them.
Imagine picking up the Crucifix only for both of the side to fall off & hit the floor, because that's the moment you realize its not going to protect you anymore.
The way the crucifix shows it has been used isn't always noticeable depending on where you place it. I do agree that it should be a single use. I think it would be cool if the dev could make different optional challenges that are specific to each map.
New patch took me by surprise last night – didn't know it was coming. Like the crucifix and photo changes, but some of the new objectives are a bit too convoluted to me (like why would you take a parabolic mic to Tanglewood? lol). And they've certainly upped the difficulty because it was much harder to detect the ghost room for some reason? Also, the colour of the icons on the player sanity board may be different, but you will always see yourself as red.

Not sure if I'm feeling this update… the asylum is less scary with the guy sitting at the front desk talking to me in a calm voice
on professional they should make it so that the crucifix is 1 time use i think that whould be better
