What is Phasmophobia?
Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror. Paranormal activity is on the rise and it’s up to you and your team to use all the ghost hunting equipment at your disposal in order to gather as much evidence as you can.The player takes control of one member from a group of up to four players in the roles of ghost investigators, who are contracted to deal with ghosts inhabiting different abandoned facilities such as homes, schools, prisons and asylums. The game features 14 different varieties of ghost, each of which behave differently. The ghost types are as follows: Spirit, Wraith, Phantom, Poltergeist, Banshee, Jinn, Mare, Revenant, Shade, Demon, Yurei, Oni, Hantu and Yokai. The players must collect various types of evidence to determine the type of ghost they are dealing with. The end goal of the game is not to defeat the ghosts, but to determine the type of ghost, as well as to complete optional objectives, all while staying alive. Players communicate through voice chat, both in a radius around the players and via global walkie-talkies, which the ghost itself hears and reacts to using speech recognition.The players can use different equipment to help their mission, such as UV flashlights, thermometers, EMF readers, CCTV cameras, crucifixes, Ouija boards, and a “Spirit Box” for direct communication with the ghost. These tools can be used for different means, such as communication, investigation, protection and clue gathering.
