Welcome to ANOTHER Phasmophobia New Update teaser! They are adding a summoning circle for the Christmas update of Phasmophobia! I really wonder how this is going to work in game, there must be some big trade-off otherwise it’s going to feel way too easy to get a ghost photo. I wonder what they’re planning. What do you think?

The christmas update will have the following (as of yet):
– New voodoo doll that can force interactions
– Added behaviour to the ghost types to make them feel more unique
– Summoning circle
– 2 more things that they have yet to reveal
– more Ouija board questions
– “and more”

  1. I hope the 5 red candles are spread out around the map and you have to find them before being able to summon the ghost (maybe just all spawn in a box on the bigger maps though). Maybe the ghost could become more aggressive or an increase in your sanity drain the more you assemble the summoning circle. Can't wait to see how they implement it nonetheless! Christmas update will be epic!

  2. The circle should definitely spawn, but the candles should be hidden all throughout the map. That'll make players have to work and use time to get their objectives done.

  3. Someone in the comment confirmed that this circle's words all around say "Sacrifice your sanity" if you stop the video. So basically this thing implies that it will sacrifice all the sanity I imagine and hunts will not take too long to start afterwards. Pretty much what people expected for using this to compensate for easy ghost photos.

  4. I hope they balance it well and make it to action game kind.
    My problem with the other Ghost Hunting games is that it feels completely unbalanced and more like a regular Indie "monster hunts player" game that are in the hundreds on steam by now…just with a mostly invisible monster.

    Phasmo had this nice "exploration"-touch to it. I understand that some people want more action, more hunts, more agressive ghosts…but I think with that the game would lose more of its identity, then it would win out of it.
    So do I like this here in the video? Yes, yes I do. But I hope they don't make an action game out of it in the end.

When creating the summing circle and doing the knife blood sacifce (going with malohn's idea) the ghost has to accept the summoning (it will have like a "base low interactions over other ghosts it will accept" however sticking to the player that used it as the new ghost room (for hunts it spawns like 1 room over so it doesnt just instant kill on nightmare) and around the map theres things that only the cursed player can see with the list of items they need to uncurse them self. If they try to leave the house the ghost will do a "mini hunt" which will just teleport the cursed player only back into the house could be anywhere or just where the circle was (only works on mutiplayer so on bigger maps if they do the summong circle it advertises the other party members to drop their flashlights seeing as how the player who cant leave is the ghost room anyway)
    other disadvntages would be the player thats the ghost room is always on 0% sanity untill they cleanse them self.
    not leaving the house (unless single player or last person alive)
    the ghost always knows where you are (in hunting phase it could just be "it allows your hiding spot purely to toy with the cursed player" ..
    the starting door way room can never be the ghost room (that way no one can just sit at the front door abuse the ghost roomed player)
    the orginal ghost room can not be found untill the cursed player is cleansed and the (ghost room can still be found pre curse though and will change after a cleanseing)

    can those ideas be abused probably but it'd be interesting to see them do something along those lines just because on nightmare and other higher diffuclits that means the ghost will mess you up if you dont play accordingly

  6. My only complaint in this game right now after a couple hundred hours of playtime is stop adding ghosts. Start making the ghosts you have more unique. I want Poltergeists to HURT me with thrown objects. I want a demon to TAKE OVER MY BODY. Stuff like that, theres so many fricken ghosts its hard to even care anymore. Just gathering evidence and being like oh book says its this guess it is. I wanna be able to hunt the ghost and try to figure it out without the book!

  7. There are things I would like to see such as different death animations. Walking around with a sickle or bat and grabs your face every time. It would also be interesting to have more on-site voices like hearing the girl giggling but instead when you ask where are you, you get a voice whispering right in your ear "Right behind you". These new updates are a nice change of pace to the game, I just hope it doesn't make it too easy.

  8. What they should do is have the circle in a random place on the map, and at least 1 of the candles is hidden somewhere in the house. The amount of missing candles would depend on the difficulty. What do y’all think?

  9. I hope its more than just a sanity loss to activate.

    And something from actual ghost hunting that I wish could somehow make it into the game but not be game breaking is the draining of batteries. Maybe certain ghosts could drain battery power instead of sanity and you have to reinstall them the way you light a candle if you want to continue using certain devices like the camera or video, but that helps you eliminate certain ghosts which do not Drain Batteries. A battery mechanic also puts some time limits on the game so you can't really sit around for an hour trying to get that last photo or that last bit of evidence because you're out of power for your devices or lights. It would definitely be a big feature to build inventory around if we want you to be able to carry batteries into the house, or just have a kind of charging pad near the pc where you can set down devices and they can recharge while you watch cameras, monitor screens, and use your journal
