Also, our normal way of doing big maps is doing a full sweep with thermos. Which means whe find the ghost in around 2-5mins.
Paramic is fun but I think its biggest flaw unless it's changed is that other players can make false positives so frequently.
In terms of limited equipment, it would be really cool to see other items be used in unique ways in conjunction with the challenges… for instance, a challenge in which you can ONLY hear via the sound sensors, and without them you have no sounds, so placing them and determining where sounds are based on this would be quite interesting.
In my first game of this challenge a demon hunted me at 90% sanity :T
I love watching your videos and I dont even have this game because I cant affford it and im too scared to play it, but I always laugh when I watch your videos and they're very entertaining everytime. I learned alot from you and if i ever do play this , i will know what to do hopefully

Whenever I go into a medium or large map, I always pick up a ParaMic AND thermo. The ParaMic narrows down where the ghost could be, and then I can confirm with the thermo if I got the right room. I've had it happen before where the ghost either roams a lot or is a Wraith constantly teleporting to me, so I end up being given a tour of the map when I've only used the ParaMic with no thermo.
Is the goal to give a reason to have sanity pills outside of the truck? Do 3 candles, pop a pill, then the last two?
Would a good fix for the summoning circle issue be to just trigger a hunt from where the ghost currently is and not teleport it to you? but that would probably ignore the main purpose of the summoning circle.
Frankly, if they just revert the summoning circle changes it would be fine.
As it is now, you just can't reasonably argue a good use-case for it in singleplayer mode. It's a death trap for solo players.

Could a ghost have a hidden weakness where they leave the readings? Also 5×16 is 80, so if you have 80 sanity. On the 5th candle you have 16% sanity so. That does seem sketchy for solo
dear god, i got 2x banshees and 0 scream. BUT! they took for a LOOOOONG trip around the school chasing doors being touched next to me!

Cant you light 4 of the summoning circle candles, than take the pill, and after light the last candle? You would have enough sanity right? I dont know all the mechanics , just an idea
Man one of things I struggle with in this game is being able to hear where a sound is coming from. I’m deaf in one ear so I can’t tell what direction a sound is coming from. I wish there was an accessibility setting that would put a small graphic or maybe just like a glow on the edge of the screen to point what direction it’s coming from. It wouldn’t have to be precise just something to let me know if the sound was from the left or right.
To make the Summoning Circle worse, if you attempt to light any of the first 4 candles without having enough sanity for them, the candle instantly goes out, so you can't even do the whole light 4 candles then take 1 sanity pill anymore.
Summoning circle sanity drain needs to be reworked imo. For 80%, it should summon the bone as well…. 10% per candle would be more reasonable, 5% would be better. In most circumstances, it has the largest sanity drain of the cursed possessions by far. Ghost event + cursed hunt is not worth 80%, except at the end of the match and you just want to grab a ghost photo.
Obviously, music box, mirror, ouija and cards can drain 100%, but box/ mirror/ ouija you can minimise the drain and cards are random. Circle is just a whopping 80% drain for any benefit.
Wishing to see the ghost with the Monkey Paw does the summoning circle effect with effectively no consequences, and it doesn't cost any sanity.

I feel like lately Insym has been complaining about something in just about every video. It's starting to get to be a downer and unenjoyable to watch. I dont say this to be cruel or to flame, it just alienates SOME audiences that used to watch for the chill and laid back atmosphere.

I've followed the channel for a while at this point, but I'm not sure if this has come up before. When using the spirit box, what does it mean when the X lights up compared to when it doesn't?
I wish Phasmo added more either dailies or map objectives.. like Dirty Water daily. Freezing thermo map objective (like Salt objective automatically removes Wraith correct?), Phasmo should also add a tier objective system (1 objective relating to a ghost evidence ((like EMF)), a hunt related objective ((like repel or escape)), and the 3rd could be map related ((like Bone/paramic/dirty water, or even add some new ones thats kinda like a hide and seek item objective))
Or Instead Of It ,If They Reduce The Sanity Drain Much More Lesser Than Now Upon Lighting The Candles, Like 7-10% Sanity Drain On Each Candle. I Guess It Would Be Fair Enough.

The other thing that doesn't make sense is that you don't really get anything from the summoning circle besides a photo and an event, then it hunts/ so just forcing it to hunt right away just takes away from teh event and the photo, there's no possible gain in evidence (Besides from the hunt that happens either way) like otheer items you can use to force interactions to get evidence or to find the ghost room etc. Maaaaybe if the brought the candle drain to like 5%-6% a piece (25%-30% total) then if you are at 0% when you light ANY CANDLE (not just the final one) it instant hunts
They may change from sanity drain from 16 to 10
this challenge is really harder for 4man. Dude you only got one normal flashlight you can't see shit this map
Insym helpp i cant tell ift he ghost can hear you during a hunt and will come straight for you since a lot of people say it can but i always see you talk during a hunt and the ghost doesn't come straight for you. Do you use push to talk in-game or something?
In my opinion, the summoning circle is the most useless cursed item in the game at the Moment. Every other object at least helps you figuring out the ghost room and if you want to force a Hunt, you can do with any CP. The only Argument for the circle would be the ghost photo, but it's not worth the risk on the one side and you might get it easier on the other side during the game. Also, I only play this game in Multiplayer and the general sanity drain is huge anyway, so it's even more useless

I get what the devs were going for with the circle. Like summoning like that is based off of cults which are groups and you would like each member light a candle as part of a ritual. The change is made to encourage spreading the lighting of the circle between everyone to emulate a cult doing the ritual. I do agree for solo play it ruins the circle. Here would be how I would fix it. In multiplayer lighting the candle only drains the sanity of the person lighting it. That way it’s ok for everyone to gather around the circle and take turns lighting it (like a cult would). For solo play the sanity cost is lowered to like 5% that way it’s a reasonable cost

Ugh THANK YOU for agreeing the new player experience has been awful for Phasmo. I feel like the devs fell into that common trap where they focus so much on the experienced players and they make the game more challenging and scarier before making it accessible to those who want to try it out only to be demolished and demoralized to even keep playing.
My partner actually came up with a really good idea for what they could do and I know everyone thinks their idea is the best ever but hear me out. What they could do is make ghosts unlockable as you progress through the difficulties and treat it like a "business" where the difficulties are more like raising the ranks at a job (kinda like how original Asylum was locked until a certain level iirc?). Like what if on Amateur you only have ghosts that are more passive and lower aggression since you're the newbie. Maybe even limit how many evidence items you can use based on the ghosts you have available. Players can get used to the few ghosts they can investigate and the items they use to do that.
Then when you progress to intermediate you gain access to a few more ghosts and items, then Professional and above you have all the ghosts available to you. Cause I believe Insym has said this before but there's really not much difference between playing Amateur and playing Professional, so I think Amateur should really be the "easing in" phase for new players outside of a tutorial.
Jumping into Phasmo for the first time is so overwhelming for new players who don't know what everything does, so I feel like getting them used to a handful of things at a time would be a great change since humans tend to learn things very gradually. I mean heck people like Insym who have been playing since the beginning have had this experience since they were there for the introduction of new ghosts and new items. They could learn about the new additions in small chunks. New players jump in and they have to learn everything from the jump.
Sorry for l using the comment section to pitch my idea, it's just really been on my mind lately and when Insym mentioned how unwelcoming Phasmo is to new players I just felt motivated to share it.
In singleplayer, you can just light four candles, then take a pill and light the last one. But that feels so unnecessary and bothersome. I don't really understand what the devs wanted out of that change. Insta-kill any newbie players attempting to use the summoning circle? But this cursed possession is already very scary and dangerous when you are new to the game, there was no need for a 'buff'!

I see no issue with it costing 4-5 sanity per candle. it costs a flat 20 sanity to use the Mirror and you don't even get a guaranteed hunt using that. Why not the same for Summoning Circle and keep the guaranteed hunt? There is balance there. Whereas the balance is way off for costing 16 sanity per candle. It doesn't keep in line with their reduction of photo rewards. The Summoning Circle sanity penalty was created because it was too easy to get a ghost photo, now that ghost photos(and photos in general) are worth so little, there is no reason to keep such a high penalty for using it.
We played it yesterday and did 4 runs with a full party. The first one was the hardest, because it took us a lot of time to find the ghost room so it was hard to get the evidence through the hunts. But the funniest was clearly the fourth run: we went through all the map. We couldn't find the ghost room (we were going with thermo, EMF, paramic and whatever). I decided to go in the truck, because I was really surprised we didn't get any hunts. Average sanity was 30-35%, so I was like "it is probably a Shade? Or a Deo?". Someone said "I think the ghost is in the entrance". And indeed, it was. Then, average sanity dropped to 25-30% and stayed there. Still no hunts… it became clear: one of us had the candle at all time. He was 99% sanity. It was a banshee. That player was the target. It was super hard to identify the ghost room because the ghost was trying to follow him all around the place!
For fun, he went "hiding" in a room, far away from the entrance. The ghost was constantly flickering lights above my friend and touched the door in the room he was. A lobby ghost touching a door in the storage room that didn't hunt at this point, that could only be a banshee. But we were confused for a moment ahah.
Well most people probably don't know that the paramic is one of the best ways to find ghosts on big maps. I had no idea it could be used this way so one of us runs around with an EMF and the other with the video cam to find evidence of a ghost.
