Very helpful :3
Im glad you want to help people gets better in the game. You are doing good job with this videos!
Very helpful video!
A method I once used was if you can't find the ghost room or where it's roamed to, just hold a lit candle in your hand, and wait till the ghost blows it out, this is not 100% accurate to the ghost room but often I found that it blew out the candle when I was near the ghost room. I don't recommend doing it right at the start of a contract, but if the ghost really isn't doing anything for a while, it may help.
This is amazing video, I hope it will help many Phasmo rookies.
Great video! I guess here are some tips I can add. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
– Looking for the bone and cursed possession is easy money, especially in small maps.
– It's useful to familiarize yourself with the map, as cursed possessions and breakers spawn in set locations.
– You can close doors/lockers/closets that you come across so you can potentially track the ghost by seeing which ones it has opened.
– Ghosts hunt with a distinct noise (ex. crying). If it appears to you not doing this distinct noise, it's likely a ghost event.
– Hunts can be identified when the front door gets locked (which can be heard if you're close enough), and when the lights can't be turned on/off.
Nice tutorial, way better than the in-game one! I think one important thing to do is listening to sounds, my beginner friends don't notice any door touch or throws. They usually go through each room with a thermometer to find the ghost room. The EMF way is much faster but as you said sometimes the ghost is super shy. Also EMF is very important to make sure what object was interacted with for the photo because the sounds in this game can be very finicky.
I definitely don't advise bringing a strong flashlight for beginners who want to learn how the cursed items work, the base flashlight is fine.
My routine is EMF / flashlight / photocamera, then when I find the room I go for spirit box / video camera and either photocamera (if the first one is full) or book. The reasoning is that orbs and spirit box need to be done in the dark, and they can be done at the same time (drop the spirit box on the floor, ask questions while looking for orbs) thus limiting the time spent in the dark. Also it's good to start with these items while sanity is high to avoid being hunted. Book is my second priority because it can take very long to proc
Nice tips, especially the bit about ignoring the objectives. Imo, total beginner priority should be: DON'T DIE > lights/breaker > find hiding > photos > identify ghost (via evidence) > bone (optional), then gtfo. Speedrun it basically. If it's taking too long to identify the ghost and your sanity is approaching 50% just leave and guess; you'll still get some dollars and keep your purchased equipment. No shame. You don't have to get a perfect game every time.
As far as priority purchases from the item store I would say always go for a second photo cam first, then salt. Build your bankroll from fingies, feet pics, and interactions. Getting good photos takes practice so start right away. The trashlight is functional until you get a bank that can sustain strong flashlights.
Practical advice for beginners: Don't worry about map diversity. Pick ONE map, preferably Tanglewood or Willow, and play that one map over and over until you know it cold. Then pick the other of the two and do the same. Then go for Grafton/Edgefield/Ridgeview. Then Bleasdale. Avoid the large maps until you know how to play the game.
Problem that Phasmophobia doesn't have accessibility for deaf people like me, they should add the subtitles option like noises for example heavy breathing so i can know its deogen or rapid footsteps.
Thanks for the video! I liked it and think it will be very useful for beginners or intermediates looking to level up and cash it in! I'm still learning how to use the cursed objects but that just comes with time and not being a scaredy cat using them. Your voice cadence is different when you're in "teaching mode" and sometimes you slip into caneveryonejustchilll mode! lol This is a video worth watching and rewatching.
