You can get pictures of the cursed item, bone, salt, interactions and ghost (dots, events, and hunt). Could easily get perfect game without using the salt. It is just the easiest way to get the most photo's though but doesn't pay more than it costs if you don't get the perfect game bonus. The Ouija board will break if you don't have enough sanity.
You can still get perfect game with a Wraith; get interaction photos.
