We Found the NEW BANSHEE Ability! – Phasmophobia Cursed Possessions Update

Welcome back to the Phasmophobia Cursed Possessions update! There are so many cool things added in the new Phasmophobia Update, of course there are all the new items but they also changed a lot of the ghosts! One of the ghosts they changed is the Banshee, it can no longer early hunt but it has 2 new “abilities” instead. These abilities are: A rare special sound on the paramic, and that the banshee will prefer singing ghost events (but it can still do other ghost events, it just prefers singing ones). I hope you enjoy! Much love and see you during the streams 😀

  1. I would not mind the loss of early hunt if the Banshee's noises were actually dangerous. Hunting early has nothing to do with the Banshee folklore, while their noises are a central theme of their tales. As such, the update makes them more true to their tales. The problem is just that they are now very weak. They need to become more dangerous and the only way to do so without stacking multiple different mechanics on them is to make their noises dangerous.

  2. If I would give the banshee some personality I would lean into the stalking and obsession behavior it used to have, make it pick a random player that becomes its obsession, then make ghost events happen around that player intermittently, even if they are far from the ghost room. Also to make it less obvious it only start doing this once at least one player has been inside the ghost room.

Also when the obsession leaves the house/location, the ghost will become angry and have a higher chance to hunt, creating the situation where the other players who are leaving right behind them are trapped inside.

  3. Maybe the Demon should instead be able to start hunts from the Summoning Circle sooner (i.e. escape it faster). Seems like some interaction there would make sense.
Maybe Onryo starts it later cuz of the candles?
If we go with cursed item oddities then the Banshee could become visible at a higher range with the music box or be much more audible? Or start the hunt earlier if you wanna be very evil

it won't really come up much though ig since cursed items are random. But I think having these random tidbits be relevant once in a while is also kind of a fun part about phasmo imo. At the very least it feels good to suddenly have that "Aha!" moment

  4. Would you be interested in trying something different? I got an experience once playing with my friends when the hunt began and everyone (3 of 4 of us) hide behind the same door. We thought that someone is gonna be dead but then we lived, yet the ghost saw us. And it was Banshee in the end. We came to the conclusion that we somehow blocked her target because any other ghost would kill one of us immediately. Could you check if it is possible to block the way to the banshee’s target? I know it’s massive work because you never know who is the target. Yet, I am curious if it was a simple bug or it is actually possible. :3

  5. I used to be so scared of banshees, if there was a chance of it being a banshee I'd play from the truck, even if its ability was rare. Of course now I'm even more scared of demons haha.

  6. The parabolic and the new sound is useful if you have a full group, because there isn't enough stuff to do for everyone. So it doesn't hurt to have someone stand there with the parabolic just in case. Especially on nightmare if you think it is banshee.

  7. So… the banshee now has the same feature as the myling? It would make more sense if the myling make sounds often but they were whispers. Banshees are kinda known for… ya know… screaming?

  8. I found something that I think you should test out. My friend and I were dealing with a Shade and we found the voodoo doll. All we were missing was EMF Level 5, so we planned to use the doll to force interactions. The second pin was the heart pin, which was supposed to trigger a cursed hunt. However, that did not happen. We were in the same room when the heart pin was pressed. I have a theory that hasn't been tested or confirmed as of yet.

Theory: A Shade's habit of no interactions or hunts with multiple people nearby overrides the effects of a cursed object, such as a voodoo doll. We have not attempted this theory with any other cursed object as of yet.
