When you are Chasing the WRONG GHOST for 30 Minutes…

In this Phasmophobia series you have to figure out the ghost on your own completely based on behavior. Do you have what it takes to complete this?

  1. since you got realy good at not hinting at what the ghost is, i got everything wrong all the time. its fun. i think you perfected this phasmophobia video genre

  2. This ghost made me really pay attention to its behaviour, and I think I figured this out before psycho haha

If I'm correct, Psycho was suspecting a demon, and with the sanity going all over the place because of the cards I wouldn't blame him at all it was quite strange. I also suspected a possible early hunt. However I observed after multiple hunts this ghost was yeeting things EVERYWHERE. after one hunt a painting was off the wall, when he came downstairs after repeated hunts the cups on the dining table and a plate were all rearranged. And then the ghost just yeeted that cup at psycho entering the ghost room, right after failing both the demon and onryo tests simultaneously. This ghost feels so much like a poltergeist, constantly using its ability during hunts.

Edit: yayyyyy! Quite happy to get the polty because those fellas are SNEAKS with no evidence usually. I wonder what Psycho was chasing after originally though… XD

I went back and checked my comments and I am currently 13/7 wins/losses on this challenge, and the one video I didn't comment on I got wrong. Not bad for never playing the game before XD

  3. So far i have gotten like a L 60/40 W ratio. I have seen that i have improved tremendously (When playing) over the course of this interesting production. Thank you for this great content! I wonder how this series will change with the new upcoming update!

  4. I'm not about this but I'm thinking it's either Obake or Goryo, since it didn't interact with the candles. I'm not completely ruling out onryo though. But speed seemed a little fast so I'm not sure. But the episode title makes me think it's something completely different. Lol

Ahh, I missed the multithrow. Someday I'll be good at this. Lol

Normal speed, not early hunting so not demon, airballs anf plenty so not oni, not bothered about lights not mare, did consider goryo for a bit but then it switched rooms (maybe broken goryo since still close)
Shut door but not completely so probably nz dr e t0ot yuri, wasn't fussed by the candle so not onryo
Not quiet so not myling and blink normal so not phantom and foots so no wraith

Also no freezing so that leaves raiju, Polti and obake

No speed up around the motion sensors or paramic (assuming you left it on you usually do)

    Obake or Polti…

I'm going to assume it's a Polti due to the throwing stuff but video not finished yet so might change my mind

  6. Darn… sorry to hear you sound recording didn't work. I'm sure a few german curse words where pronounced…
On another subject, I taught it was a banshee. I know there was no scream, but I don't get them often and didn't see the multi throw of the polter. GG!

  7. As someone who is looking to make a return to playing Phasmophobia in a semi-consistent manner, this series is a good way for me to see what I remember, what changed, and how much I need to learn.

Always awesome to get more Psycho, too! Regardless of what game you're playing.

  8. This video series has come a long way and has matured well. You've really got this formula down! I have a suggestion. Once the next major update drops, I think you should start over at episode 1. Label all the current episodes "v0.6" and the new episodes "v0.7" (assuming the Custom Difficulty update is v0.7). I imagine the Custom Difficulty update will change things quite a bit for the series. You will be able to have true no evidence runs, being able to use the EMF without EMF 5 evidence like somebody else mentioned, and never get freezing by accident. And that's just what we know will change, there could be surprise changes to gameplay mechanics in store too, or new ghosts! By segmenting major updates into seasons there won't be any confusion should an old episode get recommended, or if returning viewers want to start watching the series at the latest update. Personally, if I weren't already watching from the start, I would have my reservations clicking onto a video series 20+ episodes in. Resetting to episode 1 would imo make your videos more appealing to new viewers especially if you make it clear it is the latest update. OK I will stop armchair youtubering now, heh, thanks for the great vids!

  9. I think, if I can recall correctly, I've now about 18/20 correct on the academy guesses.

    With this one here is my process when crossing out many of the ghosts based off little behaviours;

    – not a wraith because of footsteps with salt
    – not a shade based on early interaction/activity
    – not a jinn as it turned off a light
    – not an oni because of air ball ghost event
    – not a phantom based on blinking during a hunt
    – not a yokai as it found you pretty easily when in the garage
    – not a deo/thaye/moroi/rev/hantu/twins because of footstep speed
    – not a raiju because it did not get faster when near the flashlight
    – not a myling as could still hear footsteps before flashlight flickered
    – not a goryo as changed ghost room/roamed from bathroom to hallway to bedroom
    – not a demon based on hunting sanity range
    – not a mare as it wasn't bothered by lights being on and hunting
    – not an onryo because it didn't really mind the candles being there
    – not a spirit based on smudge test, hunting before 3 mins
    – not a banshee with no scream from para-mic
    – not a yurei as there was no ability present
    – not a mimic as no change in ghost behaviour/speed

which leaves either an obake or a poltergeist.
and it only came down to one based on the amount of interactions/items thrown by the ghost.
    Therefore, it was a Poltergeist!

Let's hope they add a unique behaviour for the obake in the apocalypse update as there is no real tell for this ghost when doing no evidence, unless it is super inactive but also more active than a shade at the same time haha

  10. My Guess: Goryo

Ruled Out: Shade, Oni, Wraith, Revenant, Jinn, Raiju, Hantu, Deogen, Thaye, The Twins, Phantom, Yokai, Spirit, Moroi, Poltergeist, Demon, Myling, Onryo, Moroi, Banshee, Mare, Yurei, The Mimic, Obake,

Reasons for Guess: Never roamed large distances. A very stationary ghost the whole round.
    Reasons for Ruled Out:
Shade: Not gonna lie, I was sweating a bit when I realized that Shade was still a likely option but that ended at 38:24 when you can see the ghost used the crucifix while Psycho was in the room. A Shade cannot hunt while a player is in the same room as it.

Oni: Did an airball ghost event. Impossible for the Oni.

Wraith: When stepping in salt, after stomping around, a Wraith will not show UV footprints.

Revenant: Revenants are super slow when they don't see the player and super fast when they do see the player.

Jinn: When the breaker is on and the Jinn has line of sight of the player, it will zoom to the player until it is within 4 meters.

Raiju: When near electronics, the Raiju will be super fast, this includes flashlights.

Hantu: The Hantu is not able to accelerate during a hunt, only change speeds based on the coldness of the room. The ghost accelerated.

Deogen: You will hear the ghost coming like a steam train and it will only get slow when it is within a small range of you. It ALWAYS has line of sight of the player so you can never hide from the Deogen.

Thaye: Thayes age over time and become slower and less active. Thayes are also unable to accelerate. The ghost accelerated.

The Twins: The Twins have 2 speeds: 90% speed when the normal ghost hunts and 110% speed when the decoy starts a hunt. The footsteps were normal.

Phantom: A phantom will be barely visible during a hunt blinking in and out much slower. The ghost didn't blink slowly.

Yokai: A Yokai has a hearing range of 2 meters during a hunt (basically deaf) this include equipment like a flashlight. It found him so quickly.

Spirit: A smudge stick will prevent a Spirit from hunting for 180 seconds instead of the usual 90 seconds.

At a lower sanity, the Moroi will be zoomin'.

Poltergeist: Theoretically speaking, it should've thrown more items. Unlikely but still possible.

Demon: Theoretically it should've hunted more. And should not have dodged crucifixes like that.
Myling: The footsteps seemed too loud to be a Myling.
Onryo: Used the crucifix while the candle was still lit.
Moroi: Even at low sanities, was still normal ghost speed.
Banshee: Never did the Banshee scream on the paramic (however, it was not tested too much.)
Mare: Never broke the lights. Also didn't avoid lights and didn't really turn them off except for ghost events. Unlikely but possible.

Yurei: Never used its ability, still possible though.
The Mimic: Never roamed out of the bathroom, if it was any ghost other than a Goryo at 0 sanity, it should've roamed. Or at least have been fast during one of the hunts.
Obake: You can never really rule out an Obake but to be fair, it never did roam. Unlikely but possible.

I have gotten like 17 out of 20 correct.
    Correction: 16/20
It's funny because I heard the multithrow but I didn't think about it. Oh well, you win some you lose some. I have mainly lost to Goryos so far.

  11. I cannot believe it 😂 I was just doing my morning routine and watched this video passively. I didnt even look at the screen that much 😂 I just thought at the end, 'this throw must be special because of his reaction and it cant be Oni' and so I guessed right 😂 I didnt even see the throw properly, but yeah, this one was more of a lucky guess 😂 and of the 20 Videos, I had at least two wrong, but it might be some more, so I would say something around 15-18 I got right

  12. So far I've only missed 2 which were the Phantom in the farmhouse because I wasn't used to their blinking speed. I usually ID all of mine by photograph. As well as the Demon which I believe was on Willow? I incorrectly thought that it was a Yurei.

  13. My thoughts: First I thought it was a Shade due to the myriad of hissing events, then I concluded it to be Yurei simply for ruling out other ghosts one by one, but at the end thanks to the item activity I will say its a Poltergeist

    Edit: Hell ye

  14. Was thinking onryo, but wanted the observe the crucifix candle longer. I never ruled out Mare, Poltergeist, Obake. I missed the multithrow or never put my finger on all the touching.

  15. Hi Psycho! Another tough video!

U asked how many I got right – including this one, 16 out of 20 I think.

And this one was bamboozle for me lol.

So for me – u pulled cards, Death, it hunted, ruled out all of high speed ghosts and Jinn as Breaker was on and it didn't zoom. All of the hunts speed had been consistent so I also ruled out Moroi. Ruled out Goryo cus after that first hunt despite u having pulled WoF Green keeping ur sanity high, it changed ghost room so it was easy no-Goryo for me. Some airball events ruled out Oni for me. Not Shade from that first ghost event while ur sanity was high. Not Yokai as u spoke to it many times and it still find u, and not Myling when u had torch on ground and did the finger rhymes continues when the torch flickering stopped. As I can't hear items thrown or door touching during hunts I already ruled out Poltergeist from ur early in-game comments "it's not doing anything" and I thought ghosts generally throw items during hunts. So I narrowed down to Onryo, Obake and Yurei, u brought in crucifixes and put candle on top of it in the bathroom and it didn't hunt (couldn't see and can't tell if the crucifix was used in the bathroom) I went with Onryo

  16. Oh, this was a good one 😀 Super active ghost at some time but also super lazy at others. But I got it right in the end, although I was thinking about twins as well because of the huge range were he did stuff.
I think I got about 80% right at the academy runs..? Sometimes it's super hard and it's just more a lucky guess, sometimes it's just super obvious 😀
