Honestly there should've been passive ghosts from the beginning. (If this is in fact a passive ghost. Idk, I don't watch this game anymore.)
Not everyone who dies is a bad person, so when games like this come out with no alternate win condition you can speedrun it in like 30 seconds by just figuring out 2 pieces of info and filling in the rest with a guess.
If passive ghosts exist then it's up to the player to determine whether or not they're passive before getting sneak attacked and killed, or have the option of making a passive ghost aggressive through foul language, taunting, or sensitive subjects.
Like perhaps there's an old family photo with a mother and daughter (mother died) but the father was removed or burned out on purpose. Then if you continue to press the mother about the father she would get angry and attack you because she despised him during their marriage or something.
The ghost is just cold, lost, and probably scared, with his first kill being an accident 🥺
