Why the NEW THERMOMETER in Phasmophobia is STILL POWERFUL



All you need to know about the latest Thermometer changes in Phasmophobia and how you can deal with them in the most effective way. Even though the Thermometer got nerfed it is still a good tool to find the ghost room even though you should rely on listening more now.

This was tested on BETA 6095311, server version 0.25.1, professional

  1. You're videos are always so very helpful and informative, would you mind doing a video on the parabolic since it just got a minor buff? I've seen a few videos on it and most of them weren't very clear on how it fully works. Nuzzgard helped explain a little better then others but i still can't get it to work even on small maps like Tanglewood, Ridgeview, (etc.)

    Fixes
    1. Asylum: Fixed a bug where you couldn't take fingerprints photos on the grey doors.
    2. Fixed a bug where the ghost was able to target you on several maps when you were outside.
    3. Fixed a bug where the outside temperature was still changing on several maps.

    Changes
    1. The Parabolic Microphones range has been increased from 8 to 10 meters. The width has also been increased from 2 to 3 meters.
    2. Slightly reduced the temperature variations on the Thermometer.
    3. Improved the ghosts pathfinding when it is searching your last location to prevent it from checking different floors.

  3. All this breaker stuff is a lot of work for no real significant change. All he had to do was limit the detection range to one unit (translates to one meter in unity) in a narrow cone, and limit cold spots to a local area around the ghost and/or ghost activities.

    There. Bada bing, bada boom. It mirrors the real-world application of the IR thermo in ghost hunting with the necessary exceptions for gameplay, and it's brought in-line with the rest of the tool kit.

  5. Being more annoying to find on large maps… dude, that's an understatement! (while standing outside the asylum* waiting for the temps to rise)

    *or the school or prison, take yer pick. The prison's more annoying for the long hikes to/from the map than anything else. The school is just huge. Methinks the asylum takes the prize as its both huge and convoluted (altho the school is a close second there). Don't let me get started on the illogical light switch layout of the asylum. Methink the place was designed by one of the residents! 🤔🙄

    As always, yer the best. Nowdays I check ye pretty much exclusively for anything serious in Phantasphobia.

    PS: still working on the song! Almost done, tweaking it to have it work for the way ye speak normally (on screen at least, lol) 😉

  6. I'm mostly ok with the nerfing, the only I'm not keen on is being forced to turn the breaker on for non-freezing ghosts. Idk, call it personal preference but I don't want my first thought when starting a map to be, "where's the breaker?" Especially on the larger maps. Again, just personal preference.

This change is welcomed, as the thermo was clearly OP and pretty much the only thing you needed to find the ghost room (which is ALWAYS lower temp than the others, no matter the ghost type) in a matter of seconds if you really wanted too, and everyone in open lobbies just picked that item and rushed. Now, other investigations methods will be useful (and used) and more time before finding the ghost room means less time to gather evidences and more chances to get hunted BEFORE you even know what ghost you are against. Even if it takes one or two more minutes to locate the room, it's still one or two minutes less to "prepare" the room without risking anything, as the ghost won't attack in the first 5 minutes (2 in pro), eventually making the game more challenging and fun.

  8. I thought this would make the parabolic microphone stronger to use instead, but no, it's still a piece of trash.
    I've tested it extensively, it doesn't work a third of the time, and when it does work, I've already located the ghost's room myself faster without needing to use it.

I am sure tons** will disagree but taking the time to call out the percentage of people that is at least watching but just not subscribed isn’t something that is going to make those people subscribe to a channel. Kinda comes off as begging in every video. Just let your good content try to get those subs. I tend to unsubscribe when I seen YouTubers start doing it. Haha.

  10. It's just too strong man, no reason to use other items, every item should have a way to detect ghost. Thermo is always at a low level, mic could be a certain frequency, spirit box could be at a certain frequency, emf could always be at level 2 in ghost room… Right now nothing works as good as thermo.
