  1. I am watching this in my bathroom, and my automatic lights turned off the lights while watching. of course I just turned them back on, but kind of ironic lol

Edit: finished the video, and as I'm re-reading my own comment, it happens again. Somethin spoopy goin on lol

  2. 100% would have gone with that ghost, i think having the final piece of evidence being it's behavior is a lot better than just outright getting all the evidence, making us better detectives 🙂

  4. Your thermometer theory is correct, according to the data mine. The way the thermometer works is that it shoots out a beam of fixed length (I want to say it was 5 meters, but don't quote me), and if that beam touches a surface, it displays the temperature of that surface with an RNG fluctuation for added "realism." If the beam doesn't reach a surface, the display just shows the last temperature recorded, so it's really easy to tell when you're out of range: the display won't fluctuate and just hangs on a single number.

  5. From my experience, ghosts can reach a small distance away from their actual location. That distance ignores walls, so you'll see things like ghosts interacting with things on the opposite side of a wall, which makes people think it moved completely to that room. Or they might make paintings fall in the hallway outside their room. However, they generally don't seem to actually travel outside of their room, except for perhaps poltergeists and banshees. Banshees use their special power, but I'm not sure they interact with things during that time, and poltergeists I'm not entirely convinced roam. They could just have a longer reach.

Strong evidence for the lack of roaming is the difficulty (usually impossibility) of getting a ghost to dirty a sink, unless the sink is very close to the ghost room. Evidence for the reach of ghosts is how eager a high school bathroom ghost is to interact with the sinks in the next stall over. That also gives you an idea of the reach they have. It's possible the ghost did in fact interact with a stall due to the reach.

Of course people will swear they encountered a true roaming ghost, but there's a smorgasbord of different quirks, bugs, and outright design flaws in the game that can cause people to be mislead.

  6. COMMENT BASED ON VIDEOS EVENTS.

So I got Freezing Temperatures as Dusk located the room. The thing with Freezing Temperatures, is that you don't actually need the display to go into negatives to confirm it. If the Themometer displays 2.9 OR lower (In Celsius of course), then you are expecting Freezing Temperatures. Even if not immediately, then soon enough. Sometimes you don't get the reading initially though, so a periodic check if you're starved for clues can help.

Anyway, Dusk got Freezing Temperatures as he found the haunted room. And then with the power breaker getting turned off combined with Dusk getting a Spirit Box reply made me sus of a Mare. Mares will often turn lights off, but they'll never turn them back on. Or they'll target the power breaker directly, if possible. Searching the adjacent rooms and getting no activity made me doubt a Wraith, which was one of the options at that point. And ahe activity being non-existant when Dusk returned to the truck a second time made it harder to believe a Demon was possible. They're antsy all the time. And of course, when it flipped the breaker a second time, I was getting more and more sure of it being a Mare. And of course, my suspicions were confirmed when Dusk exited with the two clues. Probably a little tricky, if one isn't familiar with Mares, but as a Nightmare, I'm familiar with their handiwork…

Also, I was picking up a little bit of background noise on Dusk's mic. Was anyone else?

  7. Love these, fun to watch when I don’t feel like dealing with the spooks myself 😂
Random note: poltergeist behaviours must be bugged out right now because I had a ghost slam like 4 doors at once.. and it was an Oni.. haha I feel like that sort of thing should be reserved for just Poltergeists, as it’s supposed to be their thing

  8. Since sanity drain rate can be tied to the ghost type, I think it would be helpful to the "You solve it" theme if you still occasionally checked sanity but without audibly mentioning your opinion on whether or not the sanity was significantly drained.

The thermometers do not hit surfaces, they hit the world position at the end of a short ray trace, ending maybe 3–4 meters in front of the user. This is why they can sense the temp of a room through walls at a short distance.

How do I know this? As someone with game dev experience, I can say it would be way too convoluted from a development standpoint to give every surface its own unique temperature. It is far more feasible and simple to give each room a single, blanket temperature that varies a few degrees at a time.

    > Treat it like a 3 meter stick that you can aim through walls, and tell you the temperature of an entire room at any given moment. Point it downward to get a read of your current room, not adjacent rooms.

  10. Okay, so you got freezing temperatures and spirit box… I think it's a Mare, for a couple reasons.
    1. I think Demon is safely ruled out, given that it didn't attack at <65%. That's not a given, but I'm comfortable saying it with how long you spent beneath 65%
    2. It hit the breaker very early on. Moreso than to Wraith, this points to it being a Mare.
    3. I remember hearing quite a few footsteps. This points away from Wraith.

  11. I'm astonished you didn't get hunted there. I've had that kind of ghost go ham on me at 70 sanity.
Also: It's kind of cool when you have a high school ghost that starts in a room without a phone to give away its position.

  12. I pretty much put all of my fictional money on Mare as soon as I realized that it blew the breaker…. but for some reason, I always seem to get Mares and Demons confused so I almost switched my decision even though it wasn't aggressive AT ALL. Glad I was finally right for the first time guessing Mare lol
