Asylum Loading and FPS Optimisations!! – Phasmophobia Patch Notes v0.26.7



It’s great to see Asylum get some more optimisations! Even my PC has been having quite some issues with that map. It’s the only map that regularly makes my Phasmophobia crash. The #phasmophobia patch notes for v0.26.65:
Fixes
1. Potential fix for some players being able to grab the exit doors when they are closing for a hunt.
2. Fixed a bug where the 3rd daily challenge would show the total value needed for the 2nd challenge.
3. Fixed a bug where freezing temperatures could be in different rooms for each player.
4. Grafton: Potential fix for some objects sometimes spawning outside.
Changes
1. Removed the below minimum spec warning as it was giving some false warnings. This will instead be output into the log file for debugging.
Experimental Changes
1. Asylum: Moved most CCTV cameras to help with fps when in the truck.
2. Asylum: Several minor changes to most rooms to make them easier to navigate and to remove safe spots.
3. Asylum: Adjusted the lighting across the entire map to help with fps. Please let me know if there are any lighting or fps issues.
4. Asylum: Potentially significant improvements to the loading time. This will also help prevent crashes during loading.

  1. I have had freezing temps in different rooms for each player once. It was really odd. Though I have had freezing temps not be in the ghost room, but be in a nearby room and hopefully that is also fixed by this.

  2. @Insym, I was playing Saturday and Sunday night (U.S. Eastern Time Zone) on the U.S. Server, and I could play for a good while before the game Crashed, and when I would open the game back up or go back into the server, it would show me the EU server instead of US. Do you know what would cause that?

  3. "Fixed a bug where freezing temperatures could be in different rooms for each player." Saw this on the prison map last night. Team mate reports 12C while standing at the entrance to the holding point to cell block B. Where I see -6C while standing inside, just 1 meter away from my team mate.

  4. I easily get lost at Asylum 😅 that's why I always have a hard time playing on that map but not that I hated it. I actually like to play in larger maps because it's easy to dodge ghosts, except Revenant, of course. 😅 I'm glad they keep on improving Asylum and as well as other maps 😉

  5. Just tested the update tonight: that's true indeed, the asylum loads faster and seems better (also, were there always lockers, as in hiding spots, in the basement?)
    But the high school seems buggy after the update, one person couldn't load that map and only that map, I'll look into it and report if that stays the same…

  6. The asylum improved a lot, I went from not being able to move to being able to travel the entire map and be able to play, there are still some drops in fps but it is a great improvement, sorry for the translation, I am Spanish speaking but I love your videos

  7. As a craptop user this patch was a godsend! Always loved asylum but I would literally have to wait for about 10 minutes to load in so I never bothered with it and just played tanglewood as that loads me in around 60s. However with this patch asylum now loads for me in under a minute, truck lag is basically gone, (it was PowerPoint slideshow before) and the map itself is smooth walking around. This is in a laptop below minimum specs. Fantastic patcg! I'll be playing asylum 24/7 for the foreseeable future ☺

  8. It's taken me awhile to warm up to asylum. I used to hate it, but now i agree that making it smaller would make it too easy. It's the one map that I feel is actually difficult.
