Common Myths and Misconceptions in Phasmophobia

If you’re new to the game, you definitely rely on the advice from more experienced ghost hunters. But what happens when those experienced players provide incorrect information? As you probably remember from last weeks video, I have been playing around as a low level noob to see what the new player experience is like. For the most part, it’s pretty good! Most ghost hunters are very helpful, kind and provide great advice. But sometimes… even well intending players provide information that is… less than right. So let’s take a look at some of the more common myths and misconceptions from my personal experiences. And yes… it was hard not to correct them. 🤣

  1. One that I used to see quite often was that Wraith would never step in salt – which until the Tempest patch was a myth. Obviously now it's actually true, so go figure. Another one that I used to hear was that Wraith could fly through walls, but I've not heard that one for about a year now.

  2. Recently on my level 1 incognito playing, I had someone put salt in front of the door to keep the ghost inside the bathroom–as if it couldn't cross the salt line. After they did that and assured us all it's how it worked… it opened a door across the hallway and stomped on the floor.
