  1. The scariest part of phasmo for me was when I was new and didn't know everything about the game so for that first hunt I had I was so scared instead of being trained and ready for it so I kinda like how the tutorial is Incredibly basic and doesn't tell you everything. When I introduced new people to the game they were terrified when the front door shut and to see a ghost chase them and to try hide in spots only to see that it was blocked. Less can sometimes be more 🥰

  2. While I do believe the Phasmo tutorial needs to be updated, I think it shouldn't be too advanced since its a horror game. The unknown fuels fear more than anything else, so having an incredibly in-depth tutorial that explains everything would get rid of most of that if not all. There needs to be a goldilocks zone in between not explaining enough to the point players have to look up information or simply can't win, but not too much that the player knows everything from the safety of the tutorial.

  3. I remember when I first started playing because the tutorial didn’t touch on hunting I thought crouching in the corner was hiding and since I played exclusively with other brand new players none of us had any freaking clue 😂

  4. For a hunt tutorial, instead of having a ghost and ruin the scare and danger, just have a player model voice by CJ saying stuff like, "Now's the time to hide" and "i didn't found you yet. Good job!". If the player is found, it goes "AH! Found you."

  5. i think this is the way to learn because this game is suppose to be played with other people. i like the way that they given new players a space to brainstorm because of that tutorial. just update it a little and the rest youll find it out yourself by dying ofcourse.

  6. I think for the Tutorial. First they should have a unique Map. Something really small. With all the Items from the Trick on a Table, sorted between "Evidence Items", "Secondary Items","Protection Items" and the "Cursed Possesions". Have a Brief description of each Item Below them, what they do, which ghosts they are for and how to use them. Next it should teach you how to bring the Evidence into the room and use them in sequence. Then tell them what the secondary Items do, like the Para Mic and the Salt. Then they teach you about Protection Items, Running from the Ghosts, Hiding Places and Sanity. Then it should have a VERY slow Hunt where the Ghost barely moves to you. That can teach you about Crucifixes, smudge sticks, the Spirit's Abilites. Since I think the Spirit should be the Ghost in the tutorial. Then teach them about Cursed Possessions. After finishing the Tutorial. You can keep playing on the map, change the Ghosts at will, trigger hunts on will and test out the Items.

Then, they can add one more training on Willow about how to find Ghost rooms, get pictures of Interactions and Bones. and finding Cursed Possessions. You can still mess around with what Ghost it is. And if the Ghost Kills you. You just respawn outside the house and the Hunt Immediately ends.

  7. rule 1 of designing a tutorial, dont assume the player is an idiot. the level of hand holding youre suggesting would put off a lot of people, the game got as popular as it is because it lets you discover so much about it by investigating. wouldnt be much of a puzzle if it gave you all the answers

  8. You used to be able to do all the daily quests (except those that needed hunts) in the tutorial mission. I'd always do "reach 0% sanity" in the tutorial. Could also do stuff like "Get a photo of Dirty Water" by restarting tutorial until you got a kitchen or bathroom ghost then just walk there and AFK. Come back later and there'd be dirty water.

  9. What they need to do is have all the tutorials on the same map they do now but split the tutorial into like 3-4 different parts covering different aspects of the game each part. Each one could be extremely quick and only take maybe up to five minutes each and maybe after each one is completed give the player like a $50-$100 reward and after completing all of the tutorials give like a $500 bonus reward to get them a bit of a start to the game. Part 1 how to locate the ghost room and use equipment. Part 2 how to interact with the bone, cursed objects, and hiding spots. Part 3 maybe going into a few in depths of maybe a few skills the ghost may have and just overall a little bit of game knowledge. Obviously this is just an example but I feel like it would be a very effective way to give the player some motivation to complete the tutorial for the rewards and knowledge starting out. Wouldn’t take much for the developers to break it into smaller parts rather then cramming the half assed tutorial we have now. The game has come a long way so only right the tutorial gets a bit of a rework especially before the console and cross play goes live.

  10. It'd be cool if they added some tutorial touching on ghost events vs. Hunting. And a way to see how every evidence item works in practices so you get that first hand experience and know exactly what to look for

  11. That room under the stairs in the lobby would be an ideal place to put sorta Phasmo Corp induction videos and telling you about the notes in the journal then from there be able to start a tutorial level with each tool and a hunt with a obvious hiding place.

And especially telling people to turn off their gear…that one took me a while.

  12. Hunt tutorial could give you infinite high priestess effect, so that you can die again and again and again without consequencess, learn where you can hide, how to get away from the ghost, break line of sight, use smudge stick etc.

  13. They should explain how cursed objects work and leave a set of cursed objects around the room… They should also recommend that doing a custom game with item loss on death disabled is a great way to practice investigating aggressive ghosts.

  14. They could go for a more traditional tutorial by doing a completely scripted case as well? Then they could have a mode like this where you can just play around with everything without fear of losing money, but you can’t gain any either.

  15. Were the big hyped big content updates for the second half of 2023? I say this as someone whom would gladly toss another 10-15 for a meaty DLC, not being entitled.

  16. They don't even get into The Mimic and the evidence it shares with other ghosts. Especially since the book stupidly greys out The Mimic as soon as you put in ghost orbs as evidence in the journal. Super easy to get bamboozled this way on a few ghosts. For example if you don't check spirit box but get all other evidence it can look like it must be a Hantu when in fact if you checked spirit box as well you would know it has to be The Mimic.

And forget a 3 star D.O.T.S. Goryo pic. It is already annoying asf to get a 3 start D.O.T.S. photo in the first place and the game doesn't value it money wise higher than your basic interaction photos anywho. Too easy to not get the 3 star and waste a perfect investigation for no good reason.
