I also just found out that you can teleport the ghost to its favorite room if you use "I wish to trap the ghost" during an ongoing event! This may prevent any doors from closing/locking (still testing that a bit), but it can be a great way to confirm the ghost's favorite room!
Have you guys found any other fun little things like that with the monkey paw?

I was also looking for this when I looked it up because I was playing today and got the monkey paw, all I new was "it gets dark sometimes with some wishes" and "there are bad things that can happen"
