  5. question about bones are they always out in the open because there have been times where I have gone through the room that contains the bone multiple times and have not seen it

    question about finding evidence: can we start getting evidence and ghost events before the grace period is over? (like can we see ghost orbs, ghost writing, etc. before the timer is up?)

  11. One critique, love the video btw and definitely got a thumbs up! I started the game a few days ago and only have a few games under my belt so I've been looking through guides and such. Similar to yours, I notice everyone tends to go "lets get started! first you'll wanna grab these items!" insert full wall of all items I'm sorry but as a beginner I have NO MONEY also most of the items are literally locked out, I couldn't even purchase a tripod if I wanted to for several hours. So saying things like "use a crucifix/smudge stick/etc" isn't even an option for beginners. It would be nice to have seen a guide on how to do the first playthroughs with just base kit so I could feel confident to building up some money and some levels so that I can get to the same spot ya'll show in vids where I have a wall full of items.

    Now luckily I've kinda figured some things out, but I figured I'd put things here that baffled me that maybe you can address in a future video for other beginners.

    1) Amateur mode has MUCH different rules than pronightmare which is what most guides tend to be shown on. For example, you do NOT see freezing temperatures for ~5 minutes at the start. One video I watched said "find killer room in under a minute!" and ran around with a thermo and found it. I was utterly confused when I ran to every room in the house TWICE and none of them were freezing so I crossed it off the list, only to find out at the end of the game it WAS freezing. After some testing I found that is ~5-6 min mark before rooms become freezing. Similarly I noticed sometimes ghost are pretty shy and won't give emf5 or spirit box for a good while (though this may be more of location thing? idk!)

    2) How to TECHNICALLY use the items, not logically. The two here are the writing book and tripod. Every guide said "just put the book on the ground and the ghost will write in it. I didn't realize there's a difference between "setting" and item and "dropping" an item. I did try pressing right click and "F" (default keys) but nothing showed up, I didn't realize you have to crouch to actually set it on the ground. Same for the tripod, the first time I got one I couldn't even figure out how to pick up the tripod (didn't know you have to have nothing in your hand). It may sound really stupid, but remember beginners have '0' knowledge, and a lot of times you veterans do things almost instinctively.

    3) The fact there is a "ghost room" and how to identify it. Even in the training it just says "go in the ghost room and use the items" but we(was playing with friends) didn't realize there's a /single/ room that the ghost will show evidence in. So we just wandered the entire house testing every room. After watching vids I realized the ghost does interactions in the room, but didn't realize it can roam away from the room and kinda throw you off. A simple thing like closing all doors at the beginning and seeing where it interacts was actually a huge help. We(stupidly) ran around opening all the doors so we never knew whenwhere it was wondering.

    4) How the loadout screen works?! It was weird trying to figure out the "loadout" vs "shop" and how they work. A lot of pushing buttons and losing all my money before I kinda got the hang of it.

    5) How to tell ghost events from ghost hunts. Only found one video on this so far, but ya we thought every time we saw a ghost that it was hunting us so we would just run.

    6) Cursed possessions cancel the "setup time" down to 0 whenever used. Again we didn't realize that cursed items did this nor that they initiate a hunt either…

    There's other things but hopefully you catch the idea. I know that a lot of these are "just play the game forehead and you'll learn", but ya if that was the case then there would be no use for any tutorial vids. Thanks again and hope to see more vids from you in the future!
