A mistake I see a lot of new players do with the crucifixes is carrying the crucifix on them
He said if you know the items to skip ahead but does not put anything anywhere saying where to skip to (I understand why he did not say it in vid since it is not possible to know that beforehand but he could have at least put it in the info under the vid and for anyone interested you should skip to about 5 minutes in). You can light items with a lit candle or a lighter (useful for lighting candles in the house) but this can be a problem if you have a smudge (do not let it get close to the candle till you are sure you want it lit). The thermometer only works when the power is on and on professional it will never start on (meaning you have to turn it on before that will do any good and if a ghost turns it off you need to turn it on again). You can also see breath when it becomes freezing and with 1 of the newer updates when the power is on the Jinn is almost as bad as a revenant (the power makes the jinn move super fast till it is super close to you then it becomes near impossible to escape its view before the Jinn gets the other speed buff from having a player in its view for 2 seconds which kills ya). This all makes the thermometer mostly useless for searching for the ghost room compared to the directional microphone (I never even bother turning on the power till I know it is not a Jinn). The directional mic has longer rage, goes through walls, and works regardless if the power is on, but you should keep in mind where the other players are (since the noise they make can be picked up). After you take a photo of a doll you should pick it up and toss it because that way other players do not take a photo of it as well (wasting a spot in the book) and I was told when you throw a voodoo doll in the game for the 1st time it has a chance to make the ghost appear (not sure that last part is true but I have had a ghost appear a few times after doing it and the 1st option alone should be enough anyway). You can also stand books up straight by looking all the way down instead of all the way up and you can stand emf up the same way (sometimes I stand them both up with the emf slightly in front of the book then I place a camera down next to them so you can see emf and ghost writing in the truck). Although normally it is true that you would want to put the crucifix in the room depending on the room size you might want to put 1 right outside the room somewhere or in the doorway (the crucifix has a range and that range works through doorways/walls). A good example is when you are on Tanglewood and the ghost is in the small bathroom occasionally the ghost will start a hunt in the foyer/hallway or in the blue bedroom near the front instead of the bathroom. So, when dealing with a ghost in that room I place the 1st cross right outside the room (just below the doorway) and the second cross goes in the blue bedroom next door up against the wall that separates the rooms. I would also recommend using phasmocalc.com to help narrow down the ghost because it will cut your time in half by making sure you never search for any evidence that is impossible to find (I have it running on my smart phone/tablet which I keep next to the pc while I play so I do not have to alt+tab out of game). For example, if you have emf 5 and fingerprints the site will let you know you need to search for freezing temps or writing (saves you from looking for orbs or spirit box). It works with exclusions as well so if you know the ghost will not leave prints you can exclude that and the site will remove any ghost that requires that as evidence from the list of suspects. As a lvl 2500+ player with 400 hrs into the game I assure you that I know what I am talking about. If you do alt+tab or accidentally hit the windows button remember to click the game icon (it is the white P with black background) on your start menu bar at the bottom when you want to go back to the game (otherwise you might get the voice glitch which makes a few of the in game items such as the spirit box stop responding to you)
