Phasmophobia is among the most interesting and the most replayable horror games out at the moment however it has a big problem when it comes to how it treats newcomers.

I absolutely agree! I got in sort of early but stopped playing because I didn't have friends to play with and playing with randos pissed me off, but seeing all the updates and such is intimidating and I'm super hesitant to hop in at this point.
I totally agree with this stuff. I've often run into newer players who have no idea what they're doing and I spend my time giving them a full-length tutorial on all of the games mechanics. That being said, I am very happy to do so but it would be very nice if the tutorial for the game could touch up on these things a lot more. Kinetic Games really needs to make a huge tutorial update.
i played this game back in mid 2021 when there wasn't much content and you could easily find the ghost in like 5 mins if u worked efficiently. i came back to it around may in 2022 and i had no clue what i was doing, i'm glad to see they added some difficulty to the game as it was kind of easily but regardless it feels unfair to newer players who aren't familiar with it
These seem like pretty reasonable suggestions. Got into the game recently and while I thoroughly enjoy it, the tutorial right now is REALLY bad imo. Glad to hear it’s on the devs radar though.

Having specific ghost types disabled for easier difficulties is such a good idea and has never occurred to me.
I can't imagine what it would be like to be a passionate new player and facing a Deogen , Moroi or Mimic. You would think the game is impossible.
I havent really played in months, but I Quit because its like the game encourages hiding, but it they remove those, and closets and such, some Just wont be there because you play on a higher difficulty, that's kinda why I Quit
I like Phas and I'm a noob and agree with a lot of what's said here. But also… I got sent here because of your music choice. Decino? Excellent. His music that he makes? Just as good. Good choices.
Both me and my friends were new to the game, and decided we wanted to play it. Well, since we had no items, we only had one of everything. This included only one flashlight. It was exceptionally difficult to play, especially with one, crappy basic flashlight between four of us. It was a little fun, but really just annoying. We ended up just getting as many pics as possible so we could all buy a flashlight and then actually play our first mission.
Is it sad that I am just shy of 300hrs into this game and I never realized there was a tutorial? My first games were with friends who made me go to Asylum and Highschool and I always ran to a corner and looked away lol
