Phasmophobia, an abnormal or intense fear of ghosts.

This is the title of one of the most surprising games that went on early access on September 19, 2020, and even more so in the weeks before Halloween came. But what really is phasmophobia; it might look like a generic horror multiplayer game, but it’s not. What it really is is a mystery game set in a horror backdrop. It blends horror and mystery in an interesting twist, and it does it spectacularly well while embedding multiplayer elements in it. First I didn’t really wanna play the game. But after a good friend of mine gifted the game to me and a couple of games with friends and random people online. I think I finally understand the reason why this game is so special.

Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror. Paranormal activity is on the rise and it’s up to you and your team to use all the ghost hunting equipment at your disposal in order to gather as much evidence as you can. It’s an indie survival horror game developed and published by Kinetic Games. The game became available in early access through Steam for Microsoft Windows in September 2020, along with virtual reality support. The game received a large influx of popularity the following month due to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it, mainly for the Halloween season. As of October 15, 2020, the game was the sixth-most popular game on Twitch. It was the best selling game on Steam globally for several weeks in October to November 2020.
